Temporarily closed in 2021 due to renovation of the riverside flower sea scenic spot in Nanjing Houchong Scenic Area

Hou Chong Scenic Area is a relatively niche attraction in Nanjing. It is also a beautiful countryside created by Pukou District of Nanjing City. In order to give tourists a better experience, the Riverside Flower Sea Attraction in Houchong Scenic Area will be closed for upgrades and renovations starting on November 22, 2021. The reopening time will be continuously updated. Other attractions in Houchong Scenic Area (Hometown of Educated Youth, Yaoxu Old Street) is open as normal.

Riverside Flower Sea is located in Fuxingwei District, Houchong Community, Yongning Street, Pukou District. It is at the foot of the towering old mountains and on the banks of the winding Chu River. It has beautiful scenery and profound historical and cultural heritage. Local people often describe this place as "the hometown of hand lions and the hometown of educated youth". Various flowers are planted in the riverside flower sea scenic area. Depending on the season, the flowers are always new, and there are flowers to enjoy all year round.

The total length of the riverside flower sea is 1.5 kilometers. There are 4 painted boat cruises and more than 10 antique wooden cruise boats. Hou Chong Scenic Area is located north of the Yangtze River, about 4 kilometers northwest of Laoshan National Forest Park. You can not only visit various museums on the antique streets, reminisce about your days as an educated youth, but also feel the rural style.

The buildings on the old street are all newly built in antique style. There are many museums scattered on the old street, including the Lacquer Carving and Wood Sculpture Museum, the Ancient Bed Museum, the Abacus Museum, the Comic Book Exhibition Hall, the Magic Museum, etc.

The Educated Youth Memorial Hall is a courtyard-style memorial hall. The houses are arranged according to the residences of the educated youth when they went to the mountains and countryside. Slogans are written on the walls and a model of a granary is placed in the courtyard. In the museum, you can also see red armbands, oil lamps, old-fashioned thermos bottles, enamel cups and other real objects from that era.

You can eat farm food in the large village canteen. If you bring children, you can participate in rural activities such as fishing and digging vegetables, or go to the amusement park.
