Suidehan Stone Relief Exhibition Hall is located at the side of Shushu Fushou Tomb in the urban area. Built in 1998, it is open to the outside world. It is a four-A-top architectural style that imitates the Han Diaoshan style. It consists of three parts: the gatehouse, the exhibition gallery and the exhibition hall. With a total construction area of 289 square meters, it is magnificent, simple and elegant.

Description of exhibition hall

There are masonry walls on both sides of the exhibition hall, an iron gate in the middle, and a huge horizontal carved "Shaanxi Suide Han Portrait Exhibition Hall" on the top. The stone carvings on both sides of the gate are "Today's Han culture, carving for a long time to remember the ancient teacher". Banners and couplets were inscribed by Mr. Qi Gong, a famous calligrapher in China, with vigorous brushwork and elegance.

Entering from the gate, there is a spacious exhibition hall in the shape of a "patio" with a "back" shape, supported by 12 red logs. The four walls are decorated with glass frames, and selected China relief rubbings are displayed. There are legends and stories such as Fuxi and Nuwa, and there are hunting, singing and dancing, war and other scenes in the Eastern Han Dynasty. These precious rubbings have the artistic effect of traditional folk paper-cutting, vivid images and unique styles.

Stepping into the exhibition hall, there are more than 100 portrait stone carvings with strange contents and different styles embedded on the walls around the ring. There are legendary and romantic pictures such as Queen Mother of the West, Fuxi, Nu Wa, Feather Man Holding Grass, Jade Rabbit Making Medicine. There are historical pictures such as "Confucius meets Laozi", "Two peaches kill three scholars", "Jing Ke stabbed the king of Qin" and "loyalty and filial piety". There are nomadic images of farming mulberry such as "growing grain in Niu Geng", "feeding horses for grazing" and "hunting on horseback". There are grand scenes of ancient wars, such as "chariots and horses going out", "welcoming banquet", "Wan Ma Benteng" and "bows and spears". In the Eastern Han Dynasty, there were ancient cultural and artistic scenes such as "dancing", "acrobatics", "Liubo" and "throwing pots". There are also pictures reflecting the customs of feudal manor life in the Eastern Han Dynasty, such as "killing pigs and sheep", "cooking in the kitchen" and "pumping water from the well". These rare pictures, with their simple, simple, powerful and rough outlines and originality, prominently show the intelligence and rich creativity of the ancient working people.

In the center of the exhibition hall, there is a 1/4 scale restoration model of Han Dynasty stone relief tomb (1 TombNo. Yanjiacha1excavated in 975). The tomb is cross-shaped, with a main entrance, a nave, left and right wings, and finally a bedroom. In addition, the Yang Tomb (excavated in 1972) restored outside the Han Painting Museum is shaped like a "Lu", with the front hall and the back bedroom. The stone reliefs of the two Han tombs are beautifully inlaid, which is the best example of the stone reliefs mosaic method of the Han tombs in northern Shaanxi.

The collection of Han stone reliefs in Suide has a history of more than 50 years. More than 500 pieces of Han stone reliefs have been unearthed, of which more than 200 pieces have been transferred to Beijing and Xi 'an and collected by national and provincial museums. At present, there are more than 300 Han stone reliefs in the collection, accounting for more than 80% of the total number of Han stone reliefs unearthed in counties of northern Shaanxi. It mainly reflects the social life of nearly 50 years from the second year of Yongyuan (AD 90) to the third year of Yongjian (AD 128) in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
