Why is National Day celebrated for 7 days?

The 7 days of National Day holiday is not 7 days directly, but 7 days of rest based on the rest days before and after the holiday. According to regulations, the statutory holiday of National Day is 3 days.

According to Article 2 of the "Regulations on National Holidays and Memorial Days", holidays for all citizens:

(1) New Year's Day, 1 day off (January 1).

(2) Spring Festival, 3 days off (the first, second and third day of the first lunar month).

(3) Qingming Festival, 1 day off (Qingming day of the lunar calendar).

(4) Labor Day, 1 day off (May 1).

(5) Dragon Boat Festival, 1 day off (on the day of the Dragon Boat Festival in the lunar calendar).

(6) Mid-Autumn Festival, 1 day off (on the day of the Mid-Autumn Festival in the lunar calendar).

(7) National Day, 3 days off (October 1st, 2nd and 3rd).

Article 6: If a holiday for all citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday must be made up on working days. If a holiday taken by some citizens falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the holiday will not be made up.

China National Day Festival Activities:

1. Military Parade Ceremony

After the founding of New China, according to the decision of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, the military parade was listed as the National Day ceremony an important content. From the founding ceremony of the People's Republic of China in 1949 to the 10th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1959, New China held a large-scale National Day military parade in Tiananmen Square every year, 11 times before and after.

2. Decorating lanterns

Every National Day in China, enterprises and institutions will hang up lanterns or banners and use slogans such as "Celebrate National Day" to celebrate the National Day; Bonsai plants and hydrogen balloons with slogans were placed to welcome the National Day with a joyful atmosphere.

3. Flag-raising ceremony
