Fault diagnosis:

When the reading of automobile electrical instrument is abnormal, it is inferred that there may be a grounding fault in the wire inside the sensor or between the sensor and the indicator light, and the wire removal method is often used for inspection. In other words, by removing the wires on the relevant terminals, the cause and location of the fault can be judged. Take the electromagnetic fuel gauge as an example, when the iron or float inside the sensor is damaged.

And when the wire between the sensor and the fuel gauge is grounded, no matter how much oil is in the fuel tank, the pointer of the fuel gauge always points to "0" after the ignition switch is turned on. At this point, you can use the stitch removal method to check. First, remove the wire from the sensor. If the pointer of the fuel gauge moves to "I" at this time, the grounding or float inside the sensor is damaged.
