Shenzhen legislates against keeping cats and dogs.

On March 3rd, 2020, Kloc-0, the 40th meeting of the Standing Committee of the Sixth Shenzhen Municipal People's Congress voted to pass the Regulations on the Total Prohibition of Eating Wild Animals in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, explicitly prohibiting the consumption of pets such as cats and dogs.

Article 2 It is forbidden to eat the following wild animals and their products:

1, national key protected wild animals and other terrestrial wild animals that naturally grow and breed in the wild environment;

2. Artificial breeding, artificial breeding of terrestrial wild animals.

It is forbidden to use animals and their products for non-edible purposes such as scientific experiments, public display and pet keeping.

According to the Regulations on the Total Prohibition of Wild Animals in Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, illegal consumption of wild animals and their products can be fined up to 30 times the value of the goods, which is called the "most forbidden wild order" by the outside world.
