Chengdu Universiade bus free time

During the Universiade, buses in Chengdu are not free all day. It is free during off-peak hours (except 7:00~10:00 and 16:30~19:30) from July 22 to August 10, 2023.

In addition, there are free and regional restrictions on using the Chengdu Tianfu Tong Card to ride city buses operated by the Municipal Public Transport Group for free in the "5 1" urban areas. The "5 1" urban area includes Chengdu High-tech Zone, Jinjiang District, Qingyang District, Jinniu District, Wuhou District and Chenghua District. Chengdu Public Transport implements the preferential policy of "using Chengdu Tianfu Tong Card to ride for free in the "5 1" urban area during off-peak hours during the Universiade events" to encourage citizens to take public transportation to travel during off-peak hours.

Swipe Chengdu Tianfutong Card (including Tianfutong QR code) and Chengdu Metro APP to enjoy a 20% discount on urban rail transit. Those who actively declare the suspension of fuel vehicles through "Rong e-Travel" will increase the "carbon-friendly transportation" points reward. Based on the temporary traffic management measures at each stage during the event, Chengdu Public Transport used the smart Chengdu Bus Operations and Scheduling (BOCC) system to predict and analyze the changes in bus passenger flow on the city side in stages, and formulate the capacity investment plan for each line with "one front line, one policy".
