Some rules for entering Buddhist temples
In short, it is enough to have a respectful heart, a pure body, and a kind heart. This is the foundation. More details.
The etiquette required when entering the main hall:
1. Enter from the left and right sides, and do not walk in the center to show respect. If you are walking on the left side of the door, enter with your left foot first; if you are walking on the right side, enter with the right foot first.
2. Except for Buddhist scriptures, Buddha statues and offerings, no other items are allowed.
3. You can only enter when you are chanting sutras, worshiping Buddha, cleaning, or adding oil and incense. You are not allowed to use the Buddhist hall as a passage to walk back and forth at will.
4. Before entering the temple, you should purify your body and mind and wash your hands. When entering, do not look around or look around. Only after worshiping can you look at the holy face and recite the verse silently: "If you see the Buddha, you should wish all living beings, See all Buddhas without any obstruction."
5. You can only go right around the Buddha's hall, not left, to show the right path. When people are practicing circumambulation around the Buddha, they should pay attention to the corners. There is no need to stop and ask questions, as long as they raise their eyebrows.
6. Do not talk secular language in the temple, let alone make loud noises. Except for listening to sutras, listening to Dharma, and meditating together, you are not allowed to sit in the temple. Even if you are discussing Buddhism, you are not allowed to talk or laugh loudly.
7. In the Buddhist hall, you are not allowed to stand with your legs up, lean on the wall, lean on the table, or stand with your chin on your hips, and you are not allowed to stand against the wall with a stick or stick, or if you are dirty with tears and saliva, etc., you are not allowed to sit on a dustpan while sitting. When standing, you should stand upright with your palms together or with your palms together to show respect.
8. Do not yawn, spit, fart, etc. in the main hall. When forced, you should exit the hall. When you yawn, you should cover your mouth with your sleeve. When you spit, wrap it in toilet paper and put it in your pocket. Do not go in or out to disturb the public.
(2) How to respect Buddha statues:
1. Do not criticize the solemnity of Buddha statues. No Buddha statues should be placed in the bedroom.
2. Whenever you pass by a place with a Buddha statue, you should straighten your clothes and pray or put your palms together to ask questions: if you are in a sutra hall or Buddhist hall, you should pray. If you are inconvenient due to time or space, you can put your palms together or ask questions.
3. If a Buddha statue is damaged, it should be dealt with properly and must not be piled up randomly:
(1) If the Buddha statue is damaged or unclean, it should be repaired as much as possible, such as remounting it. etc. and make it clean.
(2) If it cannot be repaired, the paper maker should be cremated with respect and the remaining ashes should be buried in a clean place. Stone and wood carvings should be cremated or decomposed with respect and then scattered in rivers and seas to prevent others from trampling on them.
4. How to apply incense: When applying incense, hold the incense between your thumb and index finger, close the remaining three fingers, hold the incense up to your eyebrows with both hands, and visualize the Buddha and Bodhisattva appearing in our eyes. Before your eyes, accept the incense offerings. If there are many people, hold the incense straight up to avoid burning others, then walk three steps away from the Buddha statue, hold the incense and visualize worshiping the Buddha.
When offering incense, it is appropriate to use only one incense stick. If you want to add three incense sticks, insert the first incense stick in the middle (recite it orally to offer to the Buddha), and insert the second incense stick to the right side (recite the recitation method to make an offering to the Buddha orally). ), the third branch is inserted on the left side (reflect on the words to offer to the monks), and put the palms together (to offer to all living beings, may this cloud of incense and flowers fill the realms of the ten directions, to offer to all Buddhas, and to honor the Dharma and all sages).
5. Do not use your mouth to extinguish the fire when lighting incense. After placing the incense, just take a half step back and ask for information. There is no need to keep nodding.
6. If you see Buddha statues or scriptures placed in an unclean place, you should hold them and move them to a clean place. If you see someone being disrespectful to a Buddha statue, you should give him kind words in private.
It is advisable to follow the Buddhist system when worshiping Buddha. The method of worshiping is different from the conventional system. The method of worshiping is detailed as follows:
(1) Both hands (fingers together) and palms (slanted upward) With your chest raised, stand in front of the futon with your feet in a figure eight position, with the left and right heels about two inches apart and the toes about eight inches apart;
(2) Point your right palm downwards and press it on the futon. In the center, keep your left palm still, spread your knees, and kneel on the futon
(3) Press your left palm on the left side in front of the futon;
(4) Use your right palm from the center Move it to the right side in front of the futon, with the two palms about six inches apart;
(5) Press your head on the futon between the two palms;
(6) Use both palms to face outwards Turn over (with the palms facing upward, intending to hold the Buddha's feet with both hands, and hold the feet with the head and face);
(7) Turn over with the curled fingers of both hands, still pressing the futon in its original place;
(8) Lift your head away from the futon;
(9) Move your right palm to the center of the futon;
(10) Lift your left palm away from the futon and place it on your chest
(11) Use your right palm to lift up (leave both knees away from the futon at the same time), and bring your left palm together as your chest. This is one prayer, at least three prayers, and more Three numbers are superimposed, such as six rak'ahs, nine rak'ahs, twelve rak'ahs, etc.
After bowing, there is one more salute, such as the secular bow, which is called interrogation. Just after bowing, when you put your hands together on your chest, you should put the joined palms slightly downward (at this time, bow) and bring them close. Abdomen. Then place the right palm inside the left palm, fold it into a fist position, and slowly raise it from bottom to top to be in line with the eyebrows (at this time, you have already bowed straight), then slowly lower your hands with your palms together as chest, palms upward, and fold your right hand to The left hand is at the top, and the two thumbs are connected. This is the Great Samadhi Seal (the Amitabha Seal is the left hand folded to the right and the rest is the same as the Samadhi Seal). This is the end of the worship ceremony, and the head is slightly lowered, and the hands are released and retreated. .
Instructions for entering the temple
Buddhist groups attach the highest importance to discipline. People who have taken the precepts have learned the dignity and manners, and naturally behave in a polite manner. How can ordinary scholars understand
? It inevitably invites ridicule. Here are some common rules for reference:
1. Entering the temple: After entering the temple gate, it is not advisable to walk straight in the center. You should walk along your left arm when advancing or retreating. When entering the palace gate
It is better to carry your hat and cane by yourself or leave them in another room. Never place it on the Buddha's case or table.
2. The worship mat in the center of the main hall is used by the temple master. It is not allowed to pray on it. It is better to pray to the mats on both sides for men on the left and women on the right.
Whenever someone prays, Don't go before him.
3. Reading scriptures: If there are scriptures for separate reading in the temple, it is advisable to sit upright and read them. You must first clean your hands and place them on a table for reading. Do not hold a scroll or put it on your lap. Clothes, hats and other items should especially not be placed on the sutra.
4. Meeting a monk: When you meet, you are called a mage or a great monk. When prostrating to him, if he says one prayer, there is no need to continue to bow
forcibly. Mortals are not allowed to bow to him when they are worshiping the Buddha, sitting in meditation, chanting sutras, eating, sleeping, walking, or going to the toilet.
5. Dharma instruments: Do not knock the bells and drums in the temple without permission, and do not touch cassocks, sea turtles and other objects.
6. Listening to the sutra: Follow the crowd and take your seat. If you arrive later and the master has already ascended the throne, you must bow to the Buddha, step back
and then bow to the master. . After sitting down, do not greet acquaintances, sit unsteadily, cough or talk. If you cannot
listen to the end, you must fold your hands to the Master and exit quietly, and do not wave to others to retreat.
Article 1: No needle or thread in the temple can be used.
If you receive a gift from Master, you can donate it to the merit box.
Before becoming a monk, the author often went to the temple to stay for a few days due to poor health. I found many believers casually fetching food from the kitchen in the temple or picking fruits from the trees in the temple
, or take food and offer fruit on the table, or hold a Dharma assembly or pray to the Buddha in the temple. Seventh, on the birthday of the Buddha and Bodhisattva, Tan Yue (donor)
The number of items offered for the Dharma is very large, and on the occasion of the Dharma, Tan Yue (donor) When the meeting was completed, there were many things left, so they took them home at will.
When cooking, the author also saw that the master chef did not know the precepts, and gave them to his disciples to take home, and some took them himself
p>
Eat.
Those actions like this have seriously violated the precept of stealing. If you steal the eternal objects of the ten directions (meaning the items donated by sentient beings in various places,
money is called permanent objects), you will definitely go to hell. The suffering is immeasurable. The things in the temple are of no value, no matter how small or small they are.
If you make a phone call in the temple without investing a dollar, you will be sent to hell to suffer. p>Sorry!
Because the small results are big, you can ascend to heaven and suffer in hell.
Some people can’t help but ask, is it true that you will go to hell just for greedy one dollar in the temple? ? I don’t believe it.
Here I would like to tell you an allusion about the Buddha’s teachings of Brahmans who were heretics to convert to the Buddha, so that you can understand the seriousness of it:
One day, the Buddha led his disciples to a village to ask for help. The preaching of Dharma in the bowl was known by a heretic Brahmin, and he spread it to the villagers first.
Evil words said: Prince Siddhartha (the common name of Buddha) is coming to incite everyone's children and grandchildren to become monks, and everyone will have no descendants
p>
It can be passed down and supported from generation to generation, but never give food to them.
The Buddha led his disciples into the village and went to every household in the village to beg for food. No one was willing to give food to the Buddha. When the Buddha
walked into the alley, he saw an old man. The woman came out of the back door and wanted to pour out the rice washing water. The Buddha stepped forward and said to her
that as long as she poured the rice washing water into the bowl sincerely, she would receive the blessing of being ascended to heaven. The woman offered sincerely to the Buddha
but as soon as the outsiders heard her words, she loudly rebuked the Buddha for talking nonsense and said that a bowl of rice washing water could make him a god
.
The Buddha immediately spoke and stretched out his tongue to cover his entire face. Only then did the outsiders realize that the Buddha was a great practitioner who had never spoken lies
for many lifetimes. Practitioners at that time, whether they were immortals or heretics, all knew that only a practitioner who had not lied for many lifetimes could stick out his tongue and cover his entire face.
The other Taoists were convinced and asked the Buddha for instructions on why the merits of just a bowl of rice washing water could be promoted to gods: Buddha
The Buddha’s teachings are boundless, and he immediately pointed to a big tree in front of him. The tree said: This big tree was originally buried in the soil from a small seed (the seed is small but the tree is big). This woman will receive immeasurable blessings because of her sincere worship to the Buddha. And we have ascended to heaven
God, this is the principle of small causes and big results! This heretic, after being enlightened by the Buddha, immediately converted to the Buddha and became a disciple of Buddhism
It can be seen from this allusion that greedy taking a dollar from the temple will lead to the consequences of hell. It should not be careless! In the past, when I was in high school
I believed in Christianity and studied the Bible. There were also similar stories about small causes and big consequences. It has been mentioned in "Dharma" and will not be repeated here.
If you can deeply understand the principle of small causes and big consequences, then you must keep in mind and strictly abide by each of the precepts I have listed at the end of this article.
, be sure not to commit a crime, as you will avoid the retribution and regret it later, or you may blame the master for not teaching, or you may think that the precepts and regulations are too strict or restrictive.
Article 2: Do not pick fruits from the temple mountain
Many believers go to the mountain to worship Buddha every Sunday. They are very pious, but some people do not know the rules and see the temple.
The fruit trees on the mountain behind the temple are full of ripe fruits, which are so mouth-watering that they can’t help but pick and eat them. However,
committing the crime of stealing temple property is enough. Conditions for going to hell.
I used to go to Chiayi Daxian Temple for rest. The hill behind the temple is very large and there are many fruit trees planted there. During holidays, tourists come to rest under the shade of the trees on the back hill, and the cool breeze is very pleasant.
I often see many people picking fruits and eating them. As a pilgrim, I cannot interfere. I just lament that all living beings are greedy and never tire of eating. This is also the motivation for me to write this article.
There is currently no mountain on which to build a practice center in this Buddhist temple. Otherwise, a slogan must be erected: "Visitors are not allowed to pick and eat fruits from this mountain
Pesticides are sprayed." There must be no one. Dare to pick food. Although there is no mountain in this Buddhist hall for people to pick fruits, there are still some people who have picked fruits and eaten them: because there are often good believers who come to the Buddhist hall to worship the Buddha without saying a word after bringing fruits. Put the fruits on the Buddha table and do not take them back. After a few days, some of the fruits are rotten and some are still perfect. The disciples who took refuge in the hall did not know the rules and regulations, so they automatically If you take food and violate the precepts, you should be aware that you are not allowed to take food without the permission of the donor. Believers
If they do not take it back and do not express their intention to support the monks in the ten directions, this thing belongs to the original owner and cannot be used. , whoever uses it violates the precept of stealing
and will fall into the evil path!
Precepts are liberation, not restraints
After listening to the audio tape of my lecture on the precepts and etiquette of worshiping Buddha, some people have two opinions and mentality. One view is that if you listen to such strict and complicated rules for worshiping Buddha, you will have to go to hell for every minor violation. Who will dare to worship and learn from Buddhism in the future? The other view is that , when I listened to the various solemn etiquette and precepts taught on the tape, I was filled with Dharma joy
. I admired the Master for teaching the Dharma with heart. Some lay people were delighted with the Dharma. They have never heard of this since they listened to the Dharma in many places. The systematic and complete Buddhist ordination etiquette is truly like an enlightenment, and the joy is beyond words.
Two kinds of opinions and mentality are completely different. One is the transcendent mind, and the other is the ignorant mind. The mind of all living beings
The difference is so vast that it makes me sigh, so the ancients said: If you don’t learn, you don’t know righteousness; if you don’t practice, you don’t know.
In fact, the precepts are not a constraint, but a kind of liberation. If the people of a country do not abide by the law, social security will be in chaos
Then everyone will not be able to live in peace, and theft, robbery, fraud and murder will be rampant. In various places, people dare not go out at night, and are on tenterhooks day and night.
Can I still be free? If everyone abides by the laws and precepts, behaves in a safe and orderly manner, and the social order is good, then you can go out day and night with freedom and peace of mind.
The same principle applies to the precepts and regulations of Buddhism. What’s more, those who follow Buddhism want to seek the Buddhist path, and they should strictly abide by the precepts and regulations in order to achieve early enlightenment.
To achieve enlightenment, ordinary people If you learn the Buddhist precepts, you will not easily commit karma, your mind will be pure, you will be protected and blessed by Buddhas and Bodhisattvas, and you will always be blessed
!
Some people say: Buddhist precepts are too strict! My answer: Not being strict is a law of nature, but you have accumulated too many good habits over the years and it is difficult to change them, so it is called strict. For example, if a person smokes heavily, but now there are rules prohibiting smoking
and fines for smoking in various places, the change of smoking status will say that smoking is not a big deal, so why do we need to set such strict rules?
Are you right?
I remember that in the old provincial high school and junior high school, the school rules were very strict. Smoking would get a serious demerit, fighting would get a major demerit
Cheating in the exam would get a major demerit, and insulting the teacher would get a major demerit. If you make a mistake once, you will drop out of school if you make a mistake three times, but we never feel strict. At that time, social security was also quite good. Because our generation came out of the furnace, it also produced many celebrities and successful people who made great contributions to society. It is not important to see whether the school regulations in general schools are as strict as in the past.
You know it.
So if you don’t abide by the rules, is it a bondage? Or relief? From the actions listed above, its meaning can be clearly understood.
In order for society to be healthy,
everyone must abide by the law, Buddhism must be revitalized, and Buddhists must strictly abide by the precepts. This is an inevitable truth. We hope that those who follow Buddhism will
transcend their rational mind. Accept the teachings of the Buddha's precepts, and over time you will be able to gain access to Prajna wisdom and realize Bodhi!
Article 3: You are not allowed to smoke, wear slippers, leather shoes, or chew betel nuts when entering the Buddhist hall
I have practiced meditation in many Buddhist temples, and I often see many people in the Buddhist hall. Smoking and chewing betel nut are actually disrespectful behaviors to the Three Jewels
and pollute the tranquility of the Buddhist hall. The Buddhist hall is the pure place where monks practice chanting the Buddha's name in the Dharma King's Palace. The filthy smoke and turbid air rise into the sky. If you disrupt the practice of monks, the sin is immeasurable. It should be known that the odor of cigarettes is quite poisonous and can cause cancer and interfere with people's emotions
Many offices now prohibit smoking to improve office efficiency, let alone in solemn and quiet Buddhist halls
;Chewing betel nut is not only unsightly, but also pollutes the environment. Buddhist temples are surrounded by heavenly dragons and eight guardians. If you spit betel nut juice everywhere
it will pollute the holy place and not be clean, and the sin will be unforgivable.
When entering the Buddhist hall, you should enter barefoot and wear ordinary shoes. When cleaning the dirty Buddhist hall, you should know what shoes you wear
If you step on dirty things outside, you will You will be stained with unclean things when you come out of the toilet, so it is not advisable to enter the Buddhist hall to avoid contaminating the holy place and causing sin. You should be careful.
A mouthful of phlegm and a nose full of mucus will send you to hell, where the fire will never end
Any Buddhist disciple who observes the precepts and is quiet and has no offense will naturally emit a precepts fragrance like sandalwood over time. , the mellow fragrance spreads for hundreds of miles
, just like the Buddha and Bodhisattva appearing and descending, the fragrance fills the sky, and it should be sincerely worshiped by all living beings.
Buddha says that precepts and concentration are the true fragrance. If there are precepts and concentration, there is the true fragrance. Without precepts and without concentration, this is the taste of Jin. Those who keep the precepts have an open mind. Those who violate the precepts have an uneasy and restrained mind. Those who keep the precepts have an uneasy mind. Those who violate the precepts should be respected and worshiped by all sentient beings. Those who uphold the precepts should be able to win over all living beings and gain Buddha nature. Those who violate the precepts should be slandered and slandered by all living beings. If you keep the precepts and keep quiet, you can achieve the results, but if you violate the precepts, you will suffer the consequences of hell. Should you violate the precepts if you keep the precepts? It’s up to the wise to decide!
Talking about the precepts can easily make people bored, but it is a bitter medicine, and loyal words are offensive to the ears. All living beings do not know it, but they have to talk about it. Master Yi in the late Ming Dynasty
Master Yi lectured on the precepts, and only a few people listened. There are only a few people who have disciples and followers. In the late Qing Dynasty, Master Hongyi promoted the law and many places did not welcome him. Some people even regarded him as a monster. In fact, everyone is a monster without knowing it. Holy
The monk is a monster, and all living beings are in mourning!
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if today, if the rules of the law also focus on precepts, in the future we will be regarded as a monster by unwise sentient beings! But
If the precepts are not promoted, the teaching will be destroyed. However, for the sake of all sentient beings, with the heart of promoting the holy teaching, I am determined to promote the precepts and hope that there will be people who know how to practice Buddhism
, *** Practicing precepts will lead to concentration, Prajna wisdom, and enlightenment of Buddha nature!
Article 4: When entering a Buddhist temple, you are not allowed to enter through the middle door. You should enter through the side door
When entering the temple, you do not need to step on the threshold (the partition under the door). You must enter with hesitation. For the sake of propriety, Confucius said: "A gentleman who does not enter the middle gate will not behave as he should." It should be known that in ancient times, when low-ranking officials entered high-ranking officials, they had to enter through the side door. Only the emperor and princes could do so
p>
Enter through the middle gate, and the Buddhist temple is the Dharma King's Palace. The Buddha is the lord of the throne, surpassing the Jade Emperor and all heavenly beings. Entering the Buddhist temple is regarded as entering the emperor's palace and paying homage to the emperor. Likewise, the etiquette in the temple must be observed and the solemnity must not be casual.
In order to avoid committing the crime of disrespecting the Three Jewels.
Article 5: When entering the Buddhist hall, you are not allowed to look high at the face of the Buddha, bow your head immediately and pray, and you are not allowed to wander around to watch.
Looking around
I I often notice that as soon as many believers enter the Buddhist hall, they are not prostrate and kneel, but walk around in the hall and stand in the middle of the hall, looking up at the face of the Buddha, as if they are observing art. It's the same thing, but it's very disrespectful. If you want to look at the Buddha's face, you should stand outside the hall and look at it from a distance, so that it is in compliance with etiquette. This is a common problem among many people.
Article 6: You are not allowed to talk loudly, shout, lie down, run or jump in the Buddhist hall
Many people speak indiscriminately and loudly in the Buddhist hall Talking or talking about everyday things, treating the Buddhist hall as a vegetable market, disrupting the tranquility, is an immeasurable sin. Some Buddhist halls have carpets on the floor, and many people lie down or lie down, especially children. As soon as they enter the large Buddhist hall, it is used as a playground, jumping around and running around. It is a sin to be lax in controlling things!
Article 7: Do not spit or blow your nose when entering a Buddhist temple
There are always bodhisattvas living around the Buddhist temple, and the eight deities and dragons protect the Dharma. The environment is pure and pollution-free. People's saliva and nose are very polluted
If they spit and blow their noses anywhere in the Buddhist hall, it will contaminate the holy place, causing air pollution, spreading germs
and harmful to the monks and treasures. , when you go to hell and suffer, there are sutras to prove it. The Sangha Sutra says: "In the Buddha's land, the tears and saliva will pollute the ground. Due to this reason, you will enter the hell, and the fire will never end." From this we know that you must be careful when spitting and blowing your nose in Buddhist temples;
If you want to spit and blow your nose, wrap it in toilet paper and throw it into the trash can, or spit it out at the sink and rinse it with water
Don't worry.
According to this article, just a mouthful of phlegm and a handful of runny nose will cause you to suffer the retribution of hell. There are sutras to prove it, and it is true and true. You can also know the importance of discipline. If Once you make a mistake, no matter how good your practice is, you will never be able to achieve the right goal and be reborn in bliss. Therefore, I hope everyone in this article will keep it in mind to avoid regrets!
Buddhist precepts are rational and democratic precepts
Buddhist precepts are non-authoritative and mandatory. They are fair, reasonable and democratic, without any sense of oppression and restraint, and are consistent with democratic countries.
The law is similar; unlike the precepts of other religions, they are authoritative and irresistible, and must be accepted without protest.
All living beings are like suffering lambs and must be ordered without complaint. Otherwise, you will be threatened to go to hell to suffer or accept the punishment of the Savior
Everything is based on God's will, and all living beings are God's slaves. Say black is white, and white is black, and there is no objection.
Anyone who has studied the Buddhist precepts thinks that the Buddhist precepts are based on human ethics and morality. Those who violate the precepts are like violating the laws of the country.
In addition to accepting legal sanctions, , still have to suffer the consequences of future hell, the condemnation of the soul, and never have peace
Peace, so the Buddhist Precepts (book) is like a complete book of six Dharma.
Article 8: Entering a Buddhist hall and circumambulating the Buddha can obtain five kinds of merit
Whenever you enter a Buddhist hall, you should immediately bow to the Buddha, or go around the Buddha and chant the name of the Buddha. The Buddha said: There are five kinds of merit: first, having a good appearance in future generations; second, having a good voice; third, being reborn in heaven; fourth, being reborn in a princely family; and fifth, attaining the path to nirvana.
The direction of circumambulating the Buddha should be from right to left, which is auspicious. Go in and out immediately after worshiping the Buddha, and do not make any noise.
Article 9: Donations should be made for food consumed in the temple
Whenever the temple coincides with the Bodhisattva's Day and holds a disaster relief ceremony, it will prepare a vegetarian banquet to connect with all living beings;
When you dine in a temple, you have to donate merit money, because everything you eat is donated by charitable people from all over the world and should not be eaten in vain
; many people have this This is a common problem of gluttony, and people think that on festival days in Buddhist temples, it is appropriate to provide vegetarian food for people to eat without having to donate money. This will be the retribution for stealing food.
If you plant the roots of hell without knowing it, be careful! (non-monastics will not
be able to make offerings)
Article 10: If a staff leans against the wall, all attainments will be lost
Twenty-five ancestors in ancient India Venerable Sheduo, in his past life, he achieved the status of Situagami (that is, he has mastered the method of transcending the world and becoming a saint). However, when he went into the Buddhist hall to worship the Buddha, he carelessly leaned his staff against the wall and practiced for a moment. There is no doubt that if you violate this, you will fall into the evil realm, let alone ordinary people!
Therefore, before entering the Buddhist hall to worship the Buddha, you should put your belongings, clothes, hats, and handbags on the ground, and then bow to the Buddha
, so that you can gain merit without violating it, and you will be rewarded with blessings. The difference between karma and karma is just a small action, but the difference in the result is huge
! In particular, never leave bags, clothes, hats, or jewelry on the table.
It is common in Buddhist halls that many women have the habit of placing small leather bags on the Buddha table before worshiping Buddha. You should pay special attention to correcting it
to avoid the suffering of karmic retribution!
Also, when entering the Buddhist hall, you are not allowed to wear wooden clogs or slippers, so as not to disturb the tranquility and pollute the Buddhist temple grounds, and to avoid falling into the land of horse hoofs in the next life.
Article 11: No one is allowed to stand or worship in the center of the Buddhist hall.
The center of the Buddhist hall is the place where people conduct worship. Ordinary people are not allowed to stand or worship.
Many people worship Buddha in the temple. They all like to stand and kneel in the center to worship. Little do they know that they have violated etiquette, because the host of a temple must be virtuous.
Only those with high talents can be qualified. , the middle position in the Buddhist hall is respected. To worship and occupy the position of the leading monk is to show disrespect for me, and the crime is not light.
/p>
Being noble, everything is naturally in line with the rules and regulations. The so-called gentleman is upright in dealing with things, impartial, advancing and retreating appropriately
He has a clear sense of right and wrong, is broad-minded, benevolent and loves things, so No deceit, no deception, no greed, no ignorance.
In terms of the Five Precepts, a cultivator who (1) naturally does not kill or cook animals, but kills and cooks animals alive, is like someone who has not even a small animal in his life. He has never killed any fish, which is a natural manifestation of his kindness. Therefore, if a gentleman is far away from the kitchen, if he hears his voice, sees his kill, and cannot bear to eat his meat, he should not kill any living being; (2) Naturally, he will not kill any fish. He will steal other people's people and take them as his own
; (3) He will not commit adultery, rape good women, and destroy people's integrity; (4) He will naturally not lie or cheat
Others; (5) Naturally, they will not drink alcohol or become drunken, become mentally ill, or do anything they regret.
In this way, everything is in line with natural rationality and reveals his good nature, so why does he need precepts to restrain him?
Therefore, the precepts are set up for those who lack self-cultivation, are unclear about right and wrong, and have bad conduct. Therefore, observing the precepts is necessary for cultivation
to become a gentleman with a high-quality personality, let alone abide by it. Those who want to practice Buddhism must strictly abide by it and not violate it!
Article 12: When entering a temple, your clothing should be neat and simple.
When women go to temples to worship Buddha, they must not wear miniskirts or clothes that reveal their breasts and back. It is disrespectful to kneel down and worship. When worshiping the Buddha,
it is quite unsightly and hinders the solemnity of the temple. It will also arouse the wrong thoughts of believers who come to worship and disturb the cleanliness of the temple
It is a sin!
Article 13: Do not let children run and play in the Buddhist temple
This is very important. If you take children to the Buddhist temple to worship Buddha, you must control them well and do not let them Run around in the main hall
Run around, or move the magic tools at will, because the wooden fish and the magic tools are the eyes and ears of the dragon, so children must not be allowed to play with them
beat them. Otherwise, the sin would be very serious. I remember when I was seven years old, when I went to the Shanhua Buddhist Hall in Changhua with my grandmother to worship Buddha, I got curious and picked up a wooden fish in the hall and started banging it. My grandmother scolded me. , As a result, I went home that day with an unknown pain in my head
I took medicine but it couldn't relieve the pain, and seeking medical attention was ineffective. My grandmother wondered if I had been induced by playing the wooden fish naughtily in the Buddhist hall
As a result of the punishment of the Dharma Protector, he took me to the Buddhist hall, knelt down and repented to the Buddha. Even though I was young at that time, I sincerely repented
of my heart. In this way, after worshiping the Buddha and revealing my repentance, my head fell into disgrace. No more pain.
