I am a primary school English teacher. Through the study of the new curriculum standards, I understand the overall goal of the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 Edition) for primary schools. First of all, the nature of the course
English courses in compulsory education are instrumental and humanistic. As far as instrumentality is concerned, English courses undertake the task of cultivating students' basic English literacy, that is, students master basic English language knowledge through English courses, develop basic English listening, speaking, reading, writing and reading skills, and form the ability to communicate with others in English, thus laying a foundation for continuing to learn English and learning other related scientific and cultural knowledge in English in the future. Second, the basic idea
(1) Pay attention to quality education and fully reflect the value of Chinese learning for students' development.
The primary purpose of English course in compulsory education stage is to lay a foundation for students to develop their comprehensive language use ability and create favorable conditions for them to continue learning English and choose their future careers. At the same time, English courses help students to experience cultural differences between China and foreign countries, enrich their way of thinking, enhance international understanding and improve their humanistic quality. English education should pay equal attention to humanity and instrumentality, so that students can not only develop comprehensive language application ability, but also learn to learn, cultivate good will quality and cooperative consciousness, learn to deal with the basic relations between people, people and society, and people and nature, form innovative consciousness and develop scientific spirit, so as to improve their comprehensive quality in an all-round way.

Compulsory education is an important part of national education, and English courses in compulsory education should be geared to all students. Therefore, teachers should be flexible in teaching methods, teaching contents and teaching evaluation on the basis of fully understanding students' individual differences and different needs, so that every student can benefit.

English learning is characterized by obvious gradualism and persistence. Language learning takes a long time and needs to be accumulated gradually. English Curriculum Standards for Full-time Compulsory Education and English Curriculum Standards for Ordinary Senior High Schools set the English curriculum objectives for basic education at nine levels, aiming at reflecting the gradual development characteristics of students' English language ability in basic education and ensuring the integrity, continuity and gradualism of English curriculum. English courses should organize teaching activities and evaluation activities according to students' language level and corresponding level requirements.
(D) Pay attention to the learning process, reflecting the practicality and application of language learning.
Modern foreign language education pays attention to the process of language learning, emphasizes the practicality of language learning, and advocates students to contact, experience and understand the real language in the context. We should make full use of the texts in textbooks to create situations, such as making phone calls, shopping, birthday parties, traveling and asking for directions, so as to provide students with opportunities to communicate in English. At the same time, we should not only pay attention to the sound, form and meaning of words, but also understand the meaning of words in the text and context. Under the guidance of teachers, we can master the laws of language through observation, discovery and induction, form effective learning strategies, and develop the ability of communication and cooperation through communication and cooperation.

First, listening and speaking ability
The new curriculum standard points out that English is offered in primary schools, and the starting grade is grade three. Conditional areas and schools can offer English in the first to second grades, mainly listening and speaking. Listening and speaking is very consistent with a law of language learning, which is to lay a certain foundation for children's listening and speaking at the early stage of learning. However, due to the imbalance of educational resources, English classes are only available in the third grade in most places, and listening, speaking, reading and writing are required to go hand in hand at the beginning of learning. Without foreshadowing, it is difficult for children to adapt to the high-intensity recitation and writing training in school, and the polarization will become more and more obvious.
Therefore, it is very necessary to make a lot of listening and speaking input before school.
Second, reading ability.
The new curriculum standard increases the requirements for discourse, that is, providing students with diversified stylistic materials through extensive reading. The new curriculum standard clearly requires students to read at all stages, and the extracurricular reading volume at junior high school graduation stage should reach more than 6,543,800 words.
It can be seen that the new curriculum standard clearly requires students to read after class and read widely. In fact, there are requirements in the previous curriculum standards, but why are there not many students who can meet this requirement? First, our students have not formed the habit of reading English since childhood, because of the pressure of their studies, they will not spend time reading English after school. The second is that you can't read English. Because preschool children have not laid a foundation for reading and have no ability to read. Even if they are interested in reading, they will not be interested in reading if they find it difficult. Here we can see the importance of reading from an early age.
Third, the number of vocabulary mastered in the new curriculum standard has also increased.
The requirement of junior three graduates is that they can use about 2000 words, that is, the words they can use. So how can we master a large number of words? Obviously, relying solely on classroom learning can not meet the demand for vocabulary, and isolated word learning is not the right way, which will also stifle children's interest in learning English.
Then in the input process of preschool children (including listening to children's songs, parent-child dialogue or parent-child reading, etc. ), children will naturally accumulate a lot of vocabulary. With the foundation of vocabulary input and natural spelling learning, they can write words naturally, which is of great help to preschool children's word memory.
