Creative background

On February 27th, 1956, Mao Zedong emphasized at the Supreme State Council that "the whole party should mobilize and the whole people should mobilize to eradicate schistosomiasis" and wrote the eradication of schistosomiasis into Article 4 of the Outline of Agricultural Development. In the same year, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China set up a leading group for the prevention and control of schistosomiasis, and sent a large number of medical teams to the epidemic areas for the prevention and control of schistosomiasis.
