Performance introduction:

From October 1934 to October 1936, the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army conducted an unprecedented Long March. With extraordinary perseverance, the Red Army overcame the siege of hundreds of thousands of Kuomintang reactionary troops, crossed the inaccessible snow-capped mountains and grasslands, and traveled about 25,000 miles across ten provinces before finally reaching its destination - northern Shaanxi. In 1965, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Red Army's Long March, Xiao Hua, who had participated in the Long March, reviewed his true experiences during the Long March. It took him half a year to complete 12 vivid and sincere epics. Later, composers such as Chen Geng, Sheng Mao, Tang Ke, and Qiu Yu selected 10 of them to form a set of songs, depicting 10 interlocking battle and life scenes, and combined folk tunes from various regions with traditional Red Army songs.
