Geographical location of Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park

Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park is located in the south of Laoyeling at the junction of Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province in China.

Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park is located in the south of Laoyeling (Hunchun-Wangqing-Dongning-Suiyang) at the junction of Jilin Province and Heilongjiang Province in China. It starts from Qinglongtai Forest Farm of Hunchun Forestry Bureau of Jilin Province in the east, borders on Primorsky Krai of Russia, reaches Lingdong Forest Farm of Daxinggou Forestry Bureau of Jilin Province in the west, reaches Jingxin Forest Farm of Hunchun Forestry Bureau of Jilin Province in the south and reaches Sandao Forest Farm of Tokyo Forestry Bureau of Heilongjiang Province in the north, with a total area of1406,500 hectares.

The administrative area of Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park involves three counties (cities) of Hunchun, Wangqing and Tumen in Jilin Province 17 townships, and nine townships (cities) of Dongning, Muling and Ning 'an in Heilongjiang Province. Jilin Province covers an area of 955,700 hectares, accounting for 67.95% of the total area of Tiger and Leopard Park, and Heilongjiang Province covers an area of 450,800 hectares, accounting for 32.05%.

Natural resources:

The forest coverage rate of Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park is 93.32%, and the vegetation types are mainly temperate coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forests, with 666 species of higher plants 150 families, 406 genera. Among them, there are 3 families, 7 genera 13 species of gymnosperms, and 535 species of angiosperms, including 2 species of Taxus cuspidata and Pinus sylvestris var. mongolica under national first-class protection and 9 species of Korean pine, Tamarix japonica and Fraxinus mandshurica under national second-class protection.

There are 270 species of wild vertebrates in Northeast Tiger and Leopard National Park, including 43 species of mammals, belonging to 6 orders 14 families, and 90 species of birds 190, belonging to 39 families 15 orders. Among them, the wild animals under national first-class protection are Siberian tiger, Siberian leopard, sable, musk deer, sika deer, golden eagle and Pulsatilla.
