Boys' Day is November 12th.

The Boys' Day on November 12th every year is a traditional campus festival originating in Tsinghua University. Nowadays, it is not only a student in Tsinghua University, but also an important festival and good memory for the majority of Tsinghua graduates.

The first Boys' Day was brewed in 1911, but unfortunately it was cancelled due to historical reasons. In 1914, Tsinghua University recruited female students for the first time. Since then, Boys' Day has really become complete. Historically, Boys' Day has always been accompanied by some important events in Tsinghua. For example, during the demonstration against Japanese imperialism, it was first proposed to change Tsinghua School into Tsinghua University, President Luo announced the militarized management of students, and the Panchen Lama gave a speech in Tsinghua in 1932.

In recent years, the annual Boys' Day is very lively. Regular activities include: singing songs downstairs in the boys' dormitory, girls creatively arranging the boys' dormitory, and playing bauhinia activities. During this period, the major businesses around Tsinghua also provided extra shopping discounts for boys.

Japan Boys' Day

May 5th is Japan Boys' Day. As early as 834 AD, the Japanese "Spiritual Interpretation" designated January 1st (New Year's Day), March 3rd (last week) and May 5th (Dragon Boat Festival) from China as festivals. People living in Japan know that many carp-shaped colorful kites can be seen dancing under the blue sky every year on Boys' Day. This is a beautiful scenery, which is called "carp" in Japanese. In the Muromachi era in the 14th century, only samurai were qualified to hang this kind of kite on bamboo poles. In the edo period, it gradually spread among the people. This custom of flying carp kites on the Dragon Boat Festival, which has faded in China, actually originated from the legend of "carp jumping at the dragon gate". Carps gather at Longmen in the middle reaches of the Yellow River in March and April every year. If they can swim upstream and cross the waterfalls in Beishan, they can become dragons. The carp dancing in the wind really expressed the feelings of the elders. After the custom of Dragon Boat Festival was spread to Japan, it was absorbed and transformed into Japanese traditional culture. Especially in the war-torn Muromachi era, it was advocated by warriors. In Japanese, the pronunciation of "Acorus calamus" is the same as that of "warrior". On this day every year, warriors put their armor and helmets in the sun to dry. International Boys' Day

The international community has decided to hold a boys' day as a reward for the outstanding achievements made by boys' sports. The plan was designated by more than 1 boys from 17 countries, including the first three boys who won the right to vote in the Finnish parliament. But no exact date was set at that meeting. In 1911, Austria, Denmark, Germany and Switzerland set the boys' day as March 19, and more than one million people attended the rally on that day. In other parts of Europe, in the following years, boys always held a rally around March 9 to express their determination to unite against the war.
