Code of Conduct for the World Mahjong Competition

General Principles

The general principles listed in the chapter "Mahjong Rules" are also applicable to this chapter. Please pay special attention to the principle of "players take the initiative to enforce the law".

This rule is subject to the latest version on the formula website of "World Mahjong Competition".

general rules

players must abide by the principle of fair play and play fair and just.

players should try their best to compete. It is strictly forbidden to "collude" with other players and deliberately release the spear or "give a confession" to help others win. It is forbidden to inform his family of the contents of his own hand (except for the legally open cards). When the score is backward and there is no hope of promotion, we should also play the spirit of sports and try our best to compete. We should not give up the cards and be responsible for other players.

Any deliberate cheating and cheating, such as hiding cards on your body, illegally changing cards, playing tricks when building a wall of cards, and falsely reporting scores, are strictly prohibited. Players should obey the instructions of the referee and help the game go smoothly. If you have complaints or dissatisfaction, you should appeal by civilized means.

appeal procedure

if a player disagrees with the referee's decision, he can try to raise it with the referee immediately if he thinks there is sufficient reason.

If you are still dissatisfied with the referee's decision, the player should not argue with the referee, but should submit it to the referee in writing within 3 minutes after this section.

for all decisions, the referee has the final decision, and the players shall not object.

please refer to the "announcement of results" section of the "competition regulations" in another chapter for the requirements of checking scores.

Clothing etiquette

Players should dress properly. Be careful not to wear reflective clothes (pay attention to shirt buttons), glasses or accessories to reflect the hand cards to your opponents.

The authorities of the General Assembly have the right to require competitors to cover up or replace any trademarks, slogans, symbols, etc. on their clothes.

During the competition, the handbags, handbags, etc. brought into the competition must be put under the chair. (wallets and certificates are allowed to be kept in your pocket. Please take care of your personal belongings, and the organizer will not be responsible for any loss.

During the competition, mobile phones, computers, or other electronic or communication instruments are not allowed to be used except the computers provided by the General Assembly (to assist in scoring). During the competition, these articles must be turned off the power supply and the alarm function, and placed under the chair. Those who make noise during the game will be penalized.

Drinks will be provided free of charge by the organizer. Players are not allowed to bring their own drinks or containers into the venue.

players should be polite to other players, referees and the staff of the conference.

Players' obligation

When a player participates in the competition, it will automatically be deemed as granting his portrait right to the general assembly authorities. The authorities of the General Assembly have the right to video-record, record, broadcast and distribute the contestants.

contestants are obliged to be interviewed when requested by the general assembly authorities. Players who refuse to be interviewed will be penalized. However, if a contestant has reasonable reasons to believe that immediate interview will affect his performance (physical discomfort or insufficient time for interview, etc.), he has the right to request that the interview time be postponed (until the contestant finishes the competition).

The referee may ask the players to testify about what they have heard and witnessed, and the players are obliged to testify truthfully. Law enforcers who deliberately give false testimony to obstruct the impartiality of the referee will be severely punished, and serious cases will be disqualified from the competition.

health issues

to complete the events for several days, there will be certain requirements for the physical fitness of the players. Like many sports competitions, the physical condition of players is a part of competition; Players have the responsibility to maintain good health and go to the competition. If the athletes encounter any health problems (illness, injury or death) during the competition or because of the competition, the organizer will not be responsible.

players need to prepare their own meals. Free coffee, tea and snacks will be provided during the break of the competition, and players are welcome to enjoy them.

In order to let everyone enjoy the fresh air, smoking is prohibited in the venue (including the food supply area). Thank you for your cooperation.

players should keep a clear head, and don't drink too much alcohol before or during the competition. People should always be responsible for their actions; Drunk offenders will be punished according to the rules.

mahjong shuffling may be noisy. Players should bring their own earplugs if necessary.

If you have a physical disability, please declare at the time of registration that the General Assembly authorities will make arrangements to meet their needs.

Language matters

The formula languages used in the conference are Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Japanese. All instructions and announcements will be read in all four languages.

each player and referee will wear a language identification label to list the language that the person knows, so as to facilitate communication.

you must raise your voice when you play cards. Each word has a choice of assigned pronunciations in several languages.

code of conduct in poker

during the poker game, you are not allowed to talk except when you sound the cards. Please remember that you must raise your voice when you sound the card (the same is true for opening the bar and drawing the card). Those who don't call the buzzer have no priority, and the opponent can ignore his actions and continue to touch.

A little discussion is allowed between cards (when shuffling cards), but attention should be paid to the fact that the noise should not disturb the neighboring ongoing games.

it is inevitable that there will be noise when shuffling cards (in order to wash them evenly), but when dealing cards and playing cards, players should not knock the cards on the table vigorously, making unnecessary noise. An exception to the draw allows a knock as a reasonable emotional expression.

it is forbidden to leave or stand up during the game.

If it is necessary to take the articles under the chair or drop the articles on the ground during the game, you should inform the referee first, and you can bend over under the supervision of the referee. Mobile phones and other electronic or communication instruments are not allowed to be used during the game.

Anyone who has suspicious actions during the game will be searched by the referee to prove his innocence. The general assembly authorities will arrange for the same-sex personnel to search.

Scorecards

Scorecards will be issued to each computer, one for each half (or short segment). Each scoreboard can record the scores of two laps (eight innings).

Scorecards are filled in by referees, but players can score their own points if they know the correct recording methods.

When players write on the scorecard, they should do it publicly on the desktop. Please write carefully. If necessary, please ask the referee for verification and signature.

after scoring each game, players must make sure that the scoring is correct before starting the next game.

after the half-court (or short-term) game is completed, four people must sign their names on the designated position of the scorecard after confirming that the total score is calculated correctly. Players must remember to implement this confirmation and signature step. Once the scorecard is submitted to the general assembly for statistics, the mistakes on it may not be corrected.

Seating

Players should enter the venue at least 1 minutes before the start of each session.

players will be issued with a platform number paper, so please take your seats on time.

switch positions after one lap, and change channels after half-time (two laps). For details, please refer to the "Competition Regulations".

after a player changes channels, he should not disclose his previous opponent's achievements to other players, nor should he talk about his previous achievements in detail. Players should not ask their opponents for such information.

Penalty

The referee will give the following penalty for a player's foul. The type and severity of the penalty shall be decided by the referee, and the referee has the final decision.

disqualification and blacklisting: those who cheat, collude or deliberately obstruct the competition will be disqualified from the competition, and those who are serious will be blacklisted and cannot participate in the competition in the future. Those who are disqualified from the competition are not allowed to get bonuses (including those accumulated in previous rounds), and the registration fee will not be refunded. The bonus accumulated in the previous round will be distributed to other players according to the "bonus system" in the future (after confirming that the appeal is invalid).

waiver: if a player fails to complete the specified event (such as absence or early leave, etc.), he/she will be deemed as a waiver and will be automatically eliminated. Those who abstain can get the bonus accumulated in the previous round.

disqualification of draw: if the player's hand is wrong and he can't complete the draw (e.g. big/small "xianggong", wrong deck, etc.), the game can't be drawn.

Don't ring cards: In order to prevent some fouls (such as "big xianggong", accidentally exposing or peeking at the opponent's hand, etc.) from causing unfair benefits, the fouler will be punished for not ringing cards in this game.

penalty points: for some kinds of fouls (such as playing cards overtime, recidivists sounding their cards quietly, etc.), penalty points will be deducted. Deduction points are generally deducted from the scores of the fouler, and no extra points will be given to the opponent. However, there may be exceptions if serious fouls damage the opponent's chances of drawing cards (such as disrupting the table and making it impossible to continue the game).

Zhang Penalty: See the "Zhang Penalty" section of Mahjong Rules in other chapters. Mainly to prevent someone from unfairly benefiting by inadvertently exposing the hand or revealing the contents of the hand.

warning: the referee will give a warning for some minor fouls (for example, ringing cards without raising their voices), and will punish them if they are repeated.

correction: for some kinds of fouls, the referee will make corrections, or will make a judgment to attribute the benefits to his family, so as to maintain the fairness of the game. For example, for those who deliberately touch two cards to hinder the normal underwater and card opportunities of the next family, the referee may award the next family a chance to touch cards.

"collusion" and "seal of life and death"

Players should strive for good grades, high scores and good rankings for themselves. It is strictly forbidden for players to deliberately do anything that damages their own performance in order to help others get good grades; This is called "collusion", which is a serious foul as cheating, and will be disqualified and blacklisted.

in the game of cards, sometimes there is a threat that an opponent will make a big card. In this case, sometimes if a player helps another opponent to draw a small hand (or even gives him a spear), this threat can be solved, but it will be more advantageous. This strategy is called "playing the seal of life and death", which is a legal act, because its purpose is to avoid losing big cards and benefit oneself.

the stamp of "life and death" should be supported by the following reasons. Those who have insufficient reasons will be suspected of "collusion."

There is actually a big threat in the opponent's hand, or it can be seen from his open card or playing cards.

and cards are actually small cards, or can be seen as small cards.

the player's own hand is small or difficult to draw.

the referee has made all the decisions.

In fact, the "Give and Receive with Points Method" in the "World Mahjong Competition Scoring Method" is intended to encourage the playing of "Life and Death Stamps", because those who release small cards do not have to pay for them.

There is another situation, that is, the opponent obviously has the threat of big cards, but he also has big cards in his hand, and he has a good chance to draw (has drawn cards or is close to drawing cards), so he risks playing dangerous cards because he doesn't want to give up his big card opportunity, which is a legal risk.

when the scores are backward and there is no hope of promotion, the players should also play their sportsmanship and try their best to compete. They should not give up or release their certificates at random, so as not to be suspected of "collusion".

Players voluntarily quit

In the second half of the preliminary round, players may lose their fighting spirit because they fall behind in scores and feel hopeless in qualifying or entering the prize. The general assembly allows players who have no intention to play to voluntarily withdraw from the competition, so that the players can have a rest, and also avoids forcing the players who have no will to continue the competition reluctantly, which will affect the fairness of the competition.

Of course, those who voluntarily withdraw from the competition are deemed to have abstained, and can't get the bonus for the ongoing round (regardless of the points at that time).

if a player wants to voluntarily withdraw from the competition, please report to the general assembly authorities as soon as possible. If a contestant completes the first two quarters of the preliminary competition and declares his withdrawal more than ten minutes before the start of the third to sixth quarters, he can retain the same right to enjoy the catering and other services provided by the conference as the contestants in the preliminary competition. If you declare your withdrawal less than ten minutes before the start of a session, the authorities of the General Assembly will consider whether to let the contestants retain the above rights at their discretion.

if a player wants to voluntarily withdraw from the competition, he should report to the general assembly authorities and should not be absent on the spot. Players who fail to declare their withdrawal during the preliminary round and are absent on the spot without reasonable explanation will be included in the "non-priority list". In a certain period of time, the publicity benefits provided by the general assembly authorities will be given priority to others.

No matter how backward the scores are, players are welcome to continue the competition as long as they still have fighting spirit. However, players who lag behind too much should not pursue excessively slim reward opportunities; For example, even if you play a slam, you are still far from being rewarded. When the match is obviously out of the slam, you should not make a slam card reluctantly, and you should not use this as an excuse to give a free hand. When a player has a certain chance to enter the prize (for example, more than 1%), he can try to be a big name in order to enter the prize. However, if the chance is too slim, the player should compete with the goal of getting good results in this section, and should not be desperate to chase the slim opportunity and give it to Zhang Fangqi at random. If players choose to continue the competition, they have the obligation to try their best to get good results.

after the fourth quarter of the preliminary round, the organizer will not accept the contestant's "ignorance of the harmony in the scoring method" as the reason for giving Zhang Fang's confession at random. It is quite unfavorable for players to play without knowing it; It is suggested that players should make full use of the opportunity of practice matches (described later), or communicate with referees or other players during breaks, and be sure to learn all kinds of scoring methods as soon as possible. If after three quarters of competition, the player's score has fallen behind (the sum of the scores after three quarters is negative) and he still can't understand most of the main races, it is suggested that the player voluntarily withdraw from the competition.

players are called "time-out"

tardiness: those who are late will be penalized for calling "time-out" (see next article). Those who are late for more than 5 minutes have the right to be classified as absentee waiver, or to make any number of penalty points (not less than the penalty points in the next "suspension" penalty).

time-out: if a player needs to leave the stage before the half-time is over for any reason (such as going to the toilet), he must obtain the approval of the referee. Those who call "pause" will be fined 5 points every 3 seconds (or less). Those who lose more than 15 points due to suspension or lateness at half-time will be regarded as not being able to complete the game and will be considered as abstaining.

Time-out should be between two innings. In the process of playing cards, unless there is a special emergency, it is generally not allowed to be called "timeout".

if a contestant calls for a time-out, the three opponents should stay at the original stage. If you leave Taiwan, you will be penalized for calling a timeout.

if it is necessary for a player to take medicine regularly, he must submit a doctor's certificate to the general assembly authority before the competition, so that he can call a short time-out (up and down for 6 seconds) to take medicine. For suspension for any other reason (including medical reasons), the referee has the right to punish points.

Absence

Those who fail to show up five minutes after the start time of the competition have the right to be regarded as absentee waiver or be punished with any number of points deducted. If a contestant may be a little more than 5 minutes late due to an emergency (such as going to the toilet) at the start time, he must declare to the referee in advance, so that the penalty can be mitigated (only points will be deducted according to the above-mentioned "suspension" penalty).

If any player is absent, the authorities of the General Assembly will call the one with the highest ranking among the eliminated players present to take their place.

in case of an emergency, players can't take part in the next competition, please inform the conference authorities as soon as possible.

The authority of the General Assembly has the right to arrange "hitters" to fill an empty seat at a table, or temporarily adjust the player's platform number to fill an empty seat. Generally, this will only be done in the preliminary round, and those who have been eliminated will be called to fill the empty seats in the subsequent round.

practice match

the day before the match, there will be a practice match at the venue. Players are free to participate.

The referee will be present at the practice match to guide the players and explain the rules.

The General Assembly authorities will provide scorecards for practice, but the practice matches will not be scored or ranked.

Practice matches are purely for players to practice and learn from each other, and private gambling is prohibited.
