Brief introduction of Wang Yue Temple

Wang Yue Temple is located in the northwest corner of West Lake, opposite to the wind and lotus in Quyuan, and it is a place to commemorate the national hero Yue Fei. The cemetery of Yue Fei's father and son, and the statues of Qin Gui and four other treacherous court officials who have been kneeling in front of the tomb for thousands of years make people excited. In addition, historical materials about Yue Fei's life are displayed in the exhibition hall, which can help us understand General Yue's life of "serving the country faithfully".

Stepping into the main entrance of Wang Yue Temple Scenic Area is a square courtyard, in front of which is the main building of Wang Yue Temple, namely the Martyrs' Temple. The main hall is the main hall dedicated to Yue Fei, and the four-character plaque with "bright heart and bright will" is hung on the forehead of the gate, which is very solemn. Stepping into the main hall, there is a full-length portrait of Yue Fei in uniform, and his oath "Give me back my rivers and mountains" hangs high above his head. The murals on the walls around the main hall depict Yue Fei's life, and the most touching thing is the "mother-in-law's tattoo". On both sides of the hall, two generals of Yue Fei, Niu Hao and Zhang Xian, are enshrined.

After visiting the main hall, return to the courtyard, walk west through the stele gallery, cross the Zhongjing Bridge and come to the cemetery, where there are two tombs of Yue Fei and his son Yue Yun. There is a memorial archway in front of Yue's tomb. On both sides of the door are a pair of iron-cast traitor kneeling statues. Facing Yue's grave, they knelt down and confessed to Yue Fei. On the left is with his wife Wang. In the past, people came here to pay tribute to national heroes, and another important thing was to spit in front of these two pairs of kneeling statues. Nowadays, spitting is not allowed, and the slogan "Civilized tour, no spitting" is hung on the wall next to it.

The whole Wang Yue Temple is not big, but the ancient trees are towering. You can go back to the main entrance of Wang Yue Temple not far from Mausoleum Park, and the whole tour time is about 1 hour.
