Step 0 1: Import the picture into SketchUp, mainly for reference.

Step 02: Combined with the reference drawing, the target model is 12 petal, and only one petal can be created, but the outline can be drawn from the perspective of creating components. Draw a circle with a line segment of 12 on the horizontal plane, divide it with a straight line, and delete the redundant part, leaving only a triangle.

Step 03: Create the remaining triangular surfaces as components, modify the coordinate axis center, avoid unnecessary difficulties in subsequent modeling, and facilitate commands such as mirroring.

Step 04: As shown in the previous step, copy the created triangular component object with the blue-green axis as the mirror. Here, using SketchUp's zoom tool is simple. Then the two components are rotated and copied together until they form a circle.

Step 05: Double-click any triangle component and draw a curve with the help of the -BezierSpline plug-in. The following figure shows the two endpoints of the curve.

Step 06: Select the drawn curve, right-click the adjustment command under Bezier curve editing, and adjust the icons of the two middle nodes after adjusting the view with shortcut keys. You can see the spatial distribution of the whole curve, which is petal-shaped and very beautiful.

Step 07: First, make a copy of the currently created model for standby, then blast all the models and delete the circular part on the plane, leaving only the petal-shaped curve.

Step 08: Open the primitive information panel on the right, and you can see the number of segments when each curve is selected in the model. Now each curve is required to have the same number of segments, so after selecting a curve, right-click it to convert it into a multi-segment line with a fixed number of segments and adjust the number of segments to 6.

Step 09: Next, we will use double-track lofting for gridding in the common toolbar of TIG -ExtrudeTools-FullSet(TIG) plug-in. After selecting contour lines and path lines according to the prompts, modify the straight line to output the 3D model.

Step 10: The specific grid attributes are as follows. If you find that the size is not suitable, you can withdraw the modification.

Step 1 1: Similarly, the intermediate grid is created in the same way. But the last grid is a little different.

Step 12: Finally, this grid has only two contour lines, and they are connected end to end. Then you can only use SketchUp bubble plug-in here-SoapskinbubbleTool (Josefl) plug-in. After generating the surface, simply soften it and give it a material.

Step 13: Select the three-part mesh surface objects just created at the same time to create a component object together.

Step 14: Because the center of the whole model has always been there, you only need to select this three-in-one component object, rotate and copy 1 1, and the shape of the whole petal-shaped surface grid structure will come out. If you don't want to give a specific size when you first create the grid, you can first turn it into a straight grid, and finally turn it into a cylinder with lines, and the colors can also be given separately.
