Summary of the characteristics of MBE in five aspects

Before learning how to draw, you must first understand the characteristics of this style so that you can start better.

After careful observation, I summarize my feelings from the following five aspects.

① Lines: Very simple, thick and distinct, smooth and supple. There are obvious breaking points, but it passes very smoothly.

②Shape: The outlines based on lines are also rounded, with no protruding sharp or right angles, and a full and fat feeling.

③_Consultation: The color is very bright, yellow, orange and blue are common. There is background color overflow, and there are clear light and dark colors, that is, highlights and shadows.

④Expression: minimalist lines and simple smiling faces, the objects are anthropomorphized, cute and cute.

⑤Embellishing: There will be little dots of embellishment around the main body, basically variations of snowflakes, crosses, circles and circles.

Draw an MBE illustration in five steps

How to draw it specifically? Here, follow the five steps.

Let me explain, because my copying process involves copying a bunch at a time, and my personal painting habits are definitely different, so the steps don’t need to be the same. I just do whatever is convenient for me.

The following are the general steps summarized by Dandan after 4 copies, for reference only.

①Draw the outline first.

·Select the "Single Line" brush in "Calligraphy".

·_Put your thumb on the fresh glue and draw the outline.

·Use the "eraser" to erase part of the lines and make broken lines.

②Handle breakpoints.

·Draw a "dot" with the same thickness brush and move it to the interruption of the erased line to create roundness.

③Add emoticons.

·_Xian, move to the edge of the outline to create overflow.

·Choose a color lighter than the base color and draw highlights on the base color.

⑤Add embellishment.

Five tips to draw fast and well

I am used to adding an area on the canvas as a "review record" after completing the copying. From the 4 copy review records, I can also review my feelings about the entire process.

From "finding it difficult" to "addicted" to "finding it easy", I also figured out some small methods in the process.

①Draw outlines quickly

Some pictures are symmetrical in nature. If you want to draw faster and better, you can use the symmetry auxiliary function.

In the "Drawing Guide" function, select "Symmetry", and there are "horizontal", "vertical", "four-quadrant" and "radial" options to choose from to help us draw better.

②There are 4 methods to quickly handle breakpoints.

◆_Gouwanpuban: As mentioned before, draw a "dot" with the same thickness brush and move it to the interruption of the erased line.

◆_fat pocket: restore the original drawn path, starting from the point and overflowing the breakpoint.

◆Pixel Shift: Enlarge the lines, and adjust the thickness of the "eraser" or "brush" to supplement or erase the detailed pixel grid based on the dot method or dot-and-dashes method. .

◆_Zhang Congxin: The first three methods are actually a bit of a test of patience, and the fastest method is the fourth method. Directly copy the unerased endpoint at the other end of the line, and then move it to the breakpoint, perfect!

③Quickly add embellishments

When copying multiple icons at one time, copy them one by one Painting embellishments really takes time and patience, but I have OCD and don’t want to just copy layers to make every embellishment look the same.

What to do? Make an embellishment brush so you can do it quickly and change the position and color.

④Keep the copy size consistent

Draw grids one by one before drawing, and plan the layout through grids of consistent sizes.

⑤Keep the thickness of the lines consistent

Everyone who has stepped on the trap knows that when we zoom in to draw a line and then zoom out, the original line will also become thinner, so in order to avoid this If this situation occurs later, you also need to use the above grid to make a layout in advance, so there is no need to zoom in or out later.
