The mascot of the games is called "Rongbao".

"Rongbao" is the mascot of the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu. It is based on the giant panda "Zhima" from the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. It is in a running posture, holding a Universiade torch with the word "31" in its hand, and its ears, eyes, and tail are shaped like flames.

The facial design refers to the facial makeup style of Sichuan Opera, a traditional art treasure. It is another innovative manifestation of Sichuan Opera, an intangible cultural heritage of China, that keeps pace with the times. "Rongbao" made its debut at the global launch of the slogan, emblem, mascot and franchise of the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu.
