During the period of 1998, Huainan Institute of Mining and Technology implemented the school management system of "jointly established by the central and local governments, with Anhui Province as the main management", and was renamed Anhui University of Science and Technology in 2002. The school has 14 colleges, including Earth and Environment College, Energy and Safety College, Civil Engineering College, Mechanical Engineering College, Electrical and Information Engineering College, Materials Science and Engineering College, Chemical Engineering College, Computer Science and Engineering College, Science College, Foreign Languages College, Medical College, school of economics and management, Ministry of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sports Department, etc. It is the first batch of universities in China with the right to award master's degrees and bachelor's degrees.
