What are the Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains?
The Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains refer to the red tiger, the giant panda, the golden monkey and the takin.
The Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains refer to the four rare animals living in the Qinling Mountains: the red eagle, the giant panda, the golden monkey and the takin. Hanzhong has the reputation of "the birthplace of the Han family and the cornucopia of China" and has always been known as the "Four Treasures of Hanzhong", also known as the "Four Treasures of Qinling". These "Four Treasures" are the best footnote of the "Chinese Cornucopia", which is a testimony to the extremely superior ecological environment of Hanzhong. Among them, Zhu_, the first of the "Four Treasures", is the "city bird" of Hanzhong City.
Due to their participation in the 2011 Xi'an World Horticultural Exposition, the giant pandas, golden monkeys, rhinoceros and takin in the Qinling Mountains were called the Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains and were admitted to the Four Treasures Pavilion of the Expo.
Introduction to the Four Treasures of the Qinling Mountains:
1. Zhu_ is a rare bird. Since the mid-20th century, due to the impact of human social production activities on the environment, Zhu_ has been unable to adapt to the changed environment, and its number has dropped sharply. Zhu has a gentle personality and is regarded by the Chinese people as a symbol of good luck and is known as the "Auspicious Bird".
2. Qinling giant pandas are more like cats, with smaller skulls and larger teeth. In terms of coat color, Qinling giant pandas have dark brown chest spots and brown abdominal hair, making them look more beautiful and innocent. People in Shaanxi call the giant pandas in the Qinling Mountains "the beauty of a national treasure".
3. Golden monkey, also known as golden monkey, snub-nosed monkey, blue-faced monkey, and lion-nosed monkey. It has a peculiar appearance, with a protruding mouth, upturned nostrils, red neck and blue face, and its whole body is covered with fine, soft golden long hair. The golden monkey is named for its golden color. Local residents in the Qinling Mountains also call it the "spiritual beast", "filial beast" or "benevolent beast".
4. The Qinling takin is a unique animal in the Qinling Mountains. It is distributed along the main ridge of the Qinling Mountains and above the fir forest. It is a national first-level protected animal. Its two long and thick forelimbs, two short and curved hind legs, and forked cloven hooves all allow the Qinling takin to adapt to mountain climbing.
