Three major accomplishments in life: don’t gossip, don’t care about other people’s business, and don’t be an idle person

Life is a self-cultivation. Everyone has their own way of living, and you cannot use your own ruler to measure other people's lives. What's more, we can't control so much, and living our own lives is enough. In the second half of life, the best way for a person to live is not to gossip, not to care about other people's business, and not to be an idle person.

1. Don’t gossip

Not gossiping is a form of education. “Sit quietly and think about your own mistakes. Don’t gossip about others.”

Talk in small places, gossip. It’s nothing more than a few gossips and complaints after dinner; in a bigger sense, gossip is a low-quality manifestation of wanton speculation and unreasonable evaluation of others.

As the saying goes: "The water is deep and silent, and people are silent. If you have good thoughts in your heart, your actions will last forever."

Gossip about right and wrong can kill people without seeing blood. But if you create too much verbal karma, retribution will come to you sooner or later.

The most basic self-cultivation and kindness of a person is to keep your mouth shut and not gossip.

Because you never know what others have gone through, you are not qualified to gossip or make judgments behind their backs.

As a human being, you cannot follow the crowd. You must learn to be a wise man who does not listen to gossip or talk about other people's affairs.

Having kind thoughts in your heart, being careful in your words and deeds, and not gossiping are the wisdom of life and our lifelong practice.

2. Mind your own business

Dickens said: "The best courtesy is not to mind your own business."

Minding your own business is a sign of respect for others and a form of personal accomplishment.

Stay away from things that are not important to you.

It’s not easy to be a good person. It’s better to mind your own business than to worry about other people’s affairs.

You should focus your time on self-improvement and spend less time on other people's daily trivial matters.

The world is big and colorful. Everyone has the right to choose their own way of living. Respect the choices of others, mind your own business and be yourself.

Because the only person you can take care of is yourself!

3. Don’t be an idler

Shen Congwen once lamented: “What I fear most in my life is idleness. If you are idle, you will lose all the meaning of life."

As the saying goes: "Idle people have many worries." And the kind of person you hang out with is the kind of person you will become.

Not messing with idlers is a person’s greatest self-discipline.

There is an old saying in China: "Idle people have many worries, lazy people have many diseases, and busy people are happy." Taking a break from a busy life is a blessing, but being idle can make people discouraged, and it may even turn into a disaster.

Only when you have something to do every day, someone to love you, a balance of relaxation and a balance between work and rest can you live a successful life.

When people are busy, they forget their worries, their age, and their time.

People who are restless have fulfilling days and a happy mood. They have no time to grow old, but their bodies will stay younger and younger as they live.

When walking in the world, you can occasionally take time off to adjust yourself, but you cannot be an idle person doing nothing and waste yourself.

Being busy can cure all worries and is also the best way to maintain health in the world.
