Main Responsibilities of the Education Bureau

(1) Comprehensively implement the party and the country’s policies Education guidelines and policies, implement national laws, regulations and rules on education, study and formulate local administrative measures for the city's education work and supervise their implementation.

(2) Study the city’s educational development strategies, plan, coordinate and guide reforms in the city’s education system and school-running system; study and formulate the city’s education development plans and annual plans, and organize their implementation.

(3) Comprehensively manage the city’s basic education (including preschool education), higher education, vocational education, adult education and literacy; be responsible for the establishment and changes of the city’s general high schools, vocational middle schools and urban junior high schools; Responsible for the admission and student status management of new students in urban junior high schools, general high schools, vocational high schools, and vocational technical secondary schools; responsible for educational supervision, evaluation and inspection.

(4) Coordinate and manage the education funds of the department; propose suggestions for the education budget plan within the municipal fiscal budget; be responsible for the overall management of the education funds allocated by the province and the city, and manage the education funds of the city from abroad and overseas Assistance and loans; cooperate with the municipal finance department to guide and manage the financial work of municipal universities; organize and coordinate the audit and supervision of school education funds managed by the bureau.
