Starting from the end of 2020, the US Customs will strictly investigate counterfeit and shoddy infringing goods, especially the container baggage arriving in Long Beach and Los Angeles Port.

The frequency of strict inspection of toy products arriving at ports such as Los Angeles and new york remains high.

The customer has the right to lodge a complaint against the spot check of the US Customs baggage detained by the US Customs, but it is required to submit the supporting documents of the complaint within 30 days after receiving the detention notice, otherwise the complaint period will be exceeded.

The inspection is irregular. The US Customs conducts random inspections based on data analysis, so everyone needs to ensure that their US Customs baggage inspection complies with relevant US laws and regulations before shipment.

Generally don't check. If you find out, die. It is recommended to use an encrypted compressed package. You have no obligation to hand over the password.

Accurately speaking, the customs has the right to ask you to hand over your password, but you are not obliged to cooperate. The result of non-cooperation is repatriation (but not arrest).

I study at Minnesota Twin Cities University, which belongs to the cold area in the north of the United States. Minneapolis, where I live, is a medium and large city in the United States. It is not rural, but it is not as developed as the big cities on the east and west coasts. I want to record what luggage I brought before graduation and give some advice and reference to the freshmen.

My original intention is to give some advice to students who don't know the United States and help students who have never lived abroad to provide a list of missing items for reference only.

1. Certificate &; Card category

(3) Carry a health book (red)+a vaccine book (yellow) with you, and the probability of random inspection by the customs is extremely low, but carry it with you;

(4) High school/university transcripts and diplomas+English scores (TOEFL/IELTS test report);

(5) It is more convenient to take a high-speed train or plane with your domestic ID card when you return to China next time;

(6) Bank card+cash: It is recommended to bring Visa or Master card and cash of about $2,000-3,000 (cash should not exceed $ 10000, otherwise customs declaration is required);

2. Learning class

(1) computer &; Cell phones and iPad

I bought Think Pad E480 for my computer in China and iPhone 8 for my mobile phone when I entered China. I think it can be bought at home and abroad. Just weigh the price, warranty and convenience. The mobile phone I brought in those years was a Huawei, 1000 RMB. Because the bandwidth doesn't match with American carriers, my Huawei has no signal at all in the United States, so it is very inconvenient to use wifi. Also, many American universities offer preferential treatment to students in the opening season, so you can pay attention to it.

_ Pencils, erasers and correction tapes &; Ruler and post-it notes. Calculator (bring it here or buy it in America)

_ pencil tape (portable, American pencil tape is ugly and expensive, Taobao/domestic grocery store yyds)

_ Planning Book &; Manual (recommended for calligraphy lovers, there are not many good books in the United States, and the price is very expensive)

_ Handwritten notebooks commonly used in class (you don't need to carry them with you, the notebooks in American supermarkets are cheap and big, so students who take notes with iPad or computer can skip this directly)

_ High school textbooks &; Notebook (if you keep it as a souvenir, you can bring it; In fact, it is not necessary to bring)

(3) Electronic product accessories

_ Mobile phone case &; Computer stickers (recommended for domestic purchase, especially for students who like high-value mobile phone cases; Beautiful iPhone cases can be found abroad, but the quality is difficult to guarantee)

_ Headphones and mobile phone charging cables (both at home and abroad)

_ Sino-American adapter 2 jack does not need adapter, and 3 jack needs adapter (recommended by Bull brand).

* Note: The voltage in the United States is 1 10 V, and the voltage in China is 220 V; ; Computers, iPad and mobile phones can all be charged with adapters. Other electronic products (kitchens) need to check the instructions to see if they need to buy transformers. Otherwise, the efficiency is low, electrical appliances are damaged and dangerous accidents occur.

3. Clothing category

(1) Clothing category

Generally speaking, basic clothes can be bought in China and the United States (T-shirts, coats, jeans, autumn trousers, shorts, trousers, trench coats, down jackets, etc.). ). If you have favorite clothes on hand and there is room in the suitcase, you can consider taking them directly to the United States; If you can't buy some clothes in China, it's too late to buy them in the United States.

Precautions:

_ It is not convenient for petite girls to buy clothes in the United States, which is more spacious; I belong to a short girl. I feel that tops and coats can be bought properly, but pants are difficult to buy. I suggest bringing some pants from China.

_ The styles and styles of American clothes are very general (ugly to put it bluntly), far less beautiful than domestic clothes;

_ If you have students who are interested in ethnic costumes (such as jk, Lolita, Hanfu, etc.). ), such clothes need to be brought from China;

(2) footwear

_ Sports shoes (both at home and abroad, if you like domestic products, you must buy domestic ones);

_ Sandals (recommended, I didn't buy suitable women's sandals in America);

_ High-heeled shoes/leather shoes (if you choose a famous brand, you can come to the United States to buy it again, after all, it takes up a lot of space; If you choose ordinary brands/domestic products/shoes bought in advance, it is recommended to bring them from China. Cheap high heels in America are generally ugly);

_ slippers (cotton slippers in winter can be carried or bought in the United States; Most slippers in summer in the United States are flip-flops. Students who are not used to it can bring a pair of plastic slippers from China.

(3) hats and scarves

_ Warm scarves, hats and gloves (both at home and abroad);

_ Scarves/beautiful decorative scarves (recommended for domestic purchase);

_ Shading in summer (it is recommended that students with small head circumference buy umbrellas in China, and the average size in the United States is generally not suitable for small heads);

_ Warm earmuffs (not seen abroad, students who are used to using this kind of products suggest buying them at home);

_ Cotton/Disposable Mask /N95 (available at home and abroad at present, you don't need to bring a lot from China to the United States);

(4) Schoolbag

_ Brand-name bags (America is recommended, it is more cost-effective to buy luxury goods in America);

_ Sports brand schoolbags (both at home and abroad, I bought a Jansports bag at a discount on March 8 of that year, which is very cost-effective);

_ Ordinary and cheap messenger bag or cloth schoolbag (Taobao yyds, this kind of schoolbag in America is ugly and more expensive than in China);

4. Household goods

Household items/consumables can be purchased in the United States, which is nothing more than buying items from China;

Some daily necessities I brought:

-Soft-bristle toothbrushes (American toothbrushes are mostly hard-bristle toothbrushes, so we need to find soft-bristle toothbrushes);

-Wide-toothed wood comb/horn comb (American combs are mostly fine-toothed plastic combs, which is not conducive to protecting hair);

-Hot water bottles (rubber hot water bottles on Amazon in the United States are very common, and sisters who like patterns can consider buying them in China);

-Folding washbasin and footbath (foot bath is very useful in winter, hahaha);

-Plush dolls (there are many kinds of dolls in China and they are cheap, so I brought dolls from small to large, which is my personal hobby);

[Special note]: Friends who come to my cold area really don't need to bring thick and heavy quilts. The air conditioning in American dormitories or apartments is very good, and this kind of quilt is absolutely useless.

5. Kitchen supplies

_ Good fruit knife and scraper;

_ Chopsticks &; Small spoon (chopsticks can be bought and carried, and spoons in America are relatively large);

_ Rolling pin (personally, I think the domestic rolling pin is lighter and easier to use);

_ The pot needs no back;

_ Electrical appliances are not recommended; Kitchen appliances such as rice cookers and juicers are very cheap and convenient to buy in Amazon, USA.

6. food

The FDA prohibits the following three types of food:

_ Meat, no meat products can be brought into the United States (whether raw or cooked);

Hot pot bottom material, instant noodles with meat pictures, snail powder, etc. They all contain animal fat and cannot be brought into the United States; But friends don't have to panic. These foods are available in local Asian supermarkets or Ami. Actually, there is no need to recite it.

_ eggs and egg products;

_ Fruits, vegetables, plants, plant seeds and soil; (Fresh fruits and vegetables are not allowed to be brought into the country)

The food I brought:

_ A small amount of snacks (candy, potato chips or biscuits will do)

These snacks are mainly in the first few days in America. For long-term storage, we recommend Yami Net or the local China supermarket. When I am jet-lagged, I often wake up at midnight. When I am super hungry, I can eat snacks brought from China and feel better.

_ Instant drinks

Fruit tea made of tea and dried fruit, instant milk tea (remember to check the ingredient list, vegetable fat powder is ok, animal protein is not)

7. Commonly used drugs

The FDA prohibits carrying the following five types of drugs:

_ Any drug containing ephedrine (Biyan tablets, cough syrup, Zhi Zhi syrup, etc. )

_ strychnine (traumatic flower oil, arthritis tablets, etc. )

_ morphine

_ Drugs containing glycyrrhizic acid

_ Any medicine containing animals or animal organs.

8. Girls' area [boys please bypass]

(1) cosmetics and skin care products:

Simply put, it is very convenient for the United States to buy brand-name cosmetics in Europe and America. Big brands (ysl, Armani, Dior, etc. ) are all bought in Sephora or brand official website, cheap cosmetics and skin care products (Maybelline, L 'Oreal, Revlon, etc. ) They are sold in general supermarkets and convenience stores (Target, Wal-Mart, CVS).

However, if the sisters are used to Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Australian cosmetics and skin care products, it is recommended to buy them in China or Haitao, and then bring them to the United States (Japanese and Korean products, such as Yami, can also be bought in the United States, but the cost performance is not as high as that in China). _ Japanese eye drops (personal habit, American supermarkets also have eye drops)

_ cosmetic brush (recommended by the cracked wall, the American cosmetic brush wife is too expensive)

_ Hairpin (basic model in the United States only; All kinds of hairpin ropes in China are so beautiful. If you have any good suggestions, buy China's).

_ Nail stickers/tattoo stickers (personal hobbies, if you have the same hobbies, it is recommended to buy them from China).

(2) Hygienic products (related to physiological period)

_ Sanitary napkins: I don't use tampons. My feeling of buying sanitary napkins in America is that there are few choices. Although there are sanitary napkins in the United States, most of their sanitary napkins are dry, and there are few soft cotton, and the soft cotton is very thick and extremely difficult to fix. Every time I go back to China, I will buy a lot of sanitary napkins, unpack them and stuff them in the corner of the box, which is unnecessary, but recommended;

_ Extended sanitary napkins: Sisters who are used to using sanitary napkins with a length of 350+ mm need to buy them from China;

_ safety pants;

_ Sanitary towel pad: a small pad/blanket laid on the bed sheet to prevent the bed sheet from getting dirty during the physiological period;

_ Warm Baby: Take at most 30, otherwise the customs will ask and test it in person (or you can come and buy it).

_ Supplementary food: The most basic brown sugar, red dates and ginger are available in the United States, and other mothering sugar, earth brown sugar and red date tea are available.
