Beijing Pangu Service Team has an outing to enjoy flowers and pick up trash!

March is the beginning of beauty in the world, and it’s the right time to go out and enjoy flowers. March 24, 2018 - China Lions Beijing Environmental Protection Committee, Pangu Service Team, and Haotian Rescue Team jointly organized a volunteer garbage picking activity at Dajue Temple.

In order to advocate the concept of "environmental protection starts from small things, from around you, from you and me", and call on more people to join the environmental protection team through practical actions, March 24th at 9:30 am , volunteers from each team used weekend time to come to Dajue Temple Scenic Area early. The commander-in-chief, Brother Hong Jinyuan, explained the significance and introduction of this garbage picking activity to everyone. Everyone distributed garbage-picking tools, food, water and other items according to the number of people in each team and immediately started the garbage-picking operation.

Let’s go! The volunteers entered the Miaofeng Ancient Road in the scenic area in an orderly manner and kicked off the garbage picking activity. The sun is shining brightly, the birds are singing and the flowers are fragrant. The Miaofeng Ancient Road was originally a dirt road, which was rugged and difficult to navigate. The volunteers carried forward the spirit of not being afraid of being dirty or tired, staring at the ground of the scenic spot, searching for garbage that could be picked up, picking up plastic bags, cigarette butts, paper scraps, mineral water bottles, etc. on both sides of the road and putting them into garbage bags. In less than half an hour, everyone’s trash bags were full of “results.” There were volunteers all around. After seeing the volunteers doing environmental protection activities, passers-by also took the initiative to pick up the nearby garbage and put it into the volunteers’ garbage bags. Seeing the actions of the passers-by, they were even more moved. Volunteers truly felt the significance of the event.

The climb to the top was very difficult. Many people were exhausted and we didn’t bring much water, so we were seriously short of water. Many people have failed to reach the top, and we have been encouraging everyone to persist and persist, believing that we can do it. In this way, everyone is encouraging, supporting, and cheering each other, and we have "twenty minutes" to go through this kind of persistence four or five times, persisting step by step and finally reaching the top of the mountain! The children are what we admire the most in this activity. It is worthy of praise. Brother Hong Jinyuan wore badges for them and all volunteers, leaving a beautiful memory in each of our hearts. The beautiful scenery made everyone feel very valuable. .
