The main ideas of Mohism are universal love, non-aggression, ambition, knowing ghosts and rites and music.

Mozi's thoughts mainly include the following six points:

1. universal love and non-aggression: the so-called universal love means equality and friendship. Mozi demanded that the monarch, his son and his brother should love each other on the basis of equality.

2. Tian Zhiming Ghosts: Mozi not only believes in ghosts and gods, but especially thinks that they will reward the monarchs or nobles on earth with good and evil.

3. Shang Tong Shang Xian: Shang Tong demands that the people and the Emperor share the same interests, unite as one, and practice just politics. Saints elect saints as sons of heaven and kings.

4. Thrift and thick burial: Thrift is a view that Mohism emphasizes very much. They criticized the extravagance and waste of monarchs and nobles, especially against the custom of long-term funeral and reburial that Confucianism valued.

5. Non-music: Mozi regards music as a part of enjoyment, and thinks that the enjoyment of music by rulers takes up the time of governing the country, while the enjoyment of music by ordinary people also takes up the time of labor and production, wasting resources, hindering the progress of the world, and denying the regulatory role of music on people, so music should be abolished.

6. Immortality: Mozi advocates "the ambition of heaven", but also advocates "the destiny of heaven".

He thinks that emphasizing "destiny" is very harmful. If you believe in the theory of destiny and use it to guide your actions, princes and adults will be lazy in judging cases and managing political affairs, doctors and officials will be lazy in managing the government, farmers will be lazy in farming fields, and women will be lazy in spinning and weaving. The result will be world chaos and insufficient social wealth.
