Brief introduction of Meishan

Meishan, a prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, is located in the southwest of Chengdu Plain and the middle reaches of Minjiang River in Sichuan Basin.

Meishan is adjacent to Neijiang, Zigong and Ziyang in the east, Leshan in the south, Ya 'an in the west and Chengdu in the north.

On June 10, 2000, the State Council officially approved the revocation of Meishan area and the establishment of Meishan City to manage Dongpo District, Pengshan District, Renshou County, Hongya County, Dan Ling County and Qingshen County.

Meishan, called Meizhou in ancient times, was a county administrative region as early as 1000 years ago.

During the Song Dynasty, 886 people in * * * were admitted to Jinshi, which was called "800 Jinshi" in history and became the famous "hometown of Jinshi" in China history.

Meishan is also a key area in the middle section of Chengleshan Golden Corridor and an important part of "Chengdu Plain Economic Circle". It is also a pilot city of rural informatization under the National Spark Plan and a key city of "Sichuan Manufacturing Informatization Project".

There are international tourist resorts in Emei, Qiliping in the Mid-Levels, and the world's largest double Buddha "Qishan Double Buddha" [1].

As a national garden city, the city's forest coverage rate reaches 45.7%, and the urban greening rate reaches 37%.

Meishan is a demonstration city of the United Nations Development Programme's "China Urban Planning, Management and Development in 2 1 Century" project and a pilot city of China's urban traffic digitalization construction.

Meishan is a national and provincial historical and cultural city, a garden city, a civilized city and an excellent city for comprehensive social management in China. In 20 13, Meishan was successfully established as a national garden city.

Meishan is a famous hometown of kimchi in China, longevity in China, high-quality rice in China, navel orange in China and bamboo weaving art in China. It is also the hometown of famous writers Su Xun, Su Shi and Su Zhe. Among the eight masters in Tang and Song Dynasties, Meishan occupied three places.
