The college has 28 laboratories and training workshops, 3 production practice bases and 1 campus network. There are relatively complete hybrid rice research institutes and automobile driver training schools.

The College carries forward the tradition of combining teaching and scientific research of Academician Yuan Longping, and adheres to the school-running idea of integrating theory with practice and teaching and scientific research at the same time, forming a distinctive feature of integrating teaching, scientific research and technology popularization. The school has also trained and brought up a large number of outstanding talents, such as Li Bihu (a national science and technology expert with outstanding contributions and winner of the national special invention award), Li Yucai (the king of northern cotton) and Jinping Chen (the first doctoral supervisor of food science in China).
