The interview experience of Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Shandong Branch shows the difference in comparison

I just finished the interview with Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Shandong Branch, and Ping An Property & Casualty Insurance Shandong Branch treated recruitment with contempt and disorder. It's really disappointing. Although the results haven't come out yet, I have decided to reject it even if I receive the offer.

I happened to have just met with Bohai Jinan Branch in the morning, and compared the two, I can tell the difference. The purpose of writing this article is not to vent out of boredom, but to compare the interview experience of two financial institutions of the same level and region, and see the difference between the two from only one aspect.

First of all, in the pre-interview process, Bohai went through the online application and the written test before giving the interview opportunity. Not to mention whether the online application and written test were fair, at least they were standardized in terms of procedures. Ping An also has an online application, but it is limited to the head office. It seems to be useless in Shandong. Today’s interviews are all resumes submitted through campus presentations, and Ping An does not have any written test. Comparing the two, Ping An is at least more standardized in the pre-interview procedures. Just a little bit worse.

Secondly, the interview notifications were both received by phone, and the attitude was very enthusiastic. However, Bohai required to bring the originals and copies of all documents and certificates, and informed the company of the specific location and the time when a dedicated person would be responsible for reception, and left contact information in case of emergency. Ping An just told me the address and people can just come. Obviously, the preparations for Bohai are more detailed and thoughtful.

Third, the first impression of the two units. It stands to reason that Ping An is one of the three insurance giants in China, and Bohai is an ordinary joint-stock bank at best. Unfortunately, the office location of Ping An and Bohai are only compared in appearance. They are basically a tube building compared to a five-star hotel. The difference is not the same. . Let’s talk about the first impression after entering. Bohai has dedicated staff responsible for opening the door. The staff at the service desk will greet me warmly and ask me what help I need (it feels very similar to what is done in the Ping An promotional video). The service attitude is not the same. He said that there is also a special desk responsible for registering the people who come to apply for jobs. This kind of registration is not just a matter of recording names. It requires verifying the relevant information with the human resources department. After verifying that it is correct, they will politely guide me. And told me that there is a person responsible for reception upstairs. Ping An's first impression upon entering was like entering a vegetable market. The ground floor is a business hall, and every window is as lively as a quarrel. There is a dedicated service desk, but unfortunately there is no one there. I called their human resources department, but the person who answered the phone seemed to be awake and told me a little impatiently to wait in the conference room on the fifth floor. There is no professional guidance, just go find it yourself.

Fourth, wait before the interview. Bohai has a dedicated waiter at the elevator entrance who will take you to the reception room. Each applicant will receive a form and test questions. There are paper cups on the table (their conference room has just been renovated and has not yet been equipped with a water dispenser, but there is one in the next room). After filling out these, a dedicated staff member will be responsible for obtaining various certificates and documents that are suitable for you, and the interview will begin. When you arrive, a dedicated person will take you to the interview room. Ping An's various honors are displayed in the conference room, and there are loud slogans and slogans, saying that no one cares about you. Later, a young man came up and ordered seven people, including me, to go out. Then I took us to the door of an office (later I found out it was not the human resources department, but the property insurance department), and said that you can just wait here. Someone will call you shortly. So the seven of us waited stupidly for 20 minutes before someone told us to start. The others continued to wait at the door. It is estimated that the last student to enter would have to stand at the door for an hour and a half. In addition, there is no order in the interview, whoever wants to get in can get in.

Fifth, the interview process. Bohai Bank is a many-to-one, serial question. The questions were basically based on personal resumes and content related to banking business, especially those related to banking business. The difficulty gradually increased, which made me feel a little overwhelmed. After all, I have never done related business personally, but it was not a little bit. The kind that I can't even describe.

Ping An is more interesting. When I submitted my resume, I didn't specify any position, but among the positions they recruited, I could meet the requirements for more positions. Ping An's recruiter (not a liar from the business department, but actually from the branch's human resources department) clearly stated that he hopes to recruit highly educated talents. In addition, the professional restrictions for the position are not as strict as in the recruitment notice (words and deeds are inconsistent). As a result, I was taken to the property insurance department without any advance notice. Fortunately, a kind employee told us that we might be interviewing for an underwriting position. The interview was with Mr. Sun from this department. The questions were basically just small talk (of course, it got more and more serious later on). Mr. Sun seemed to be quite busy. During my interview, someone came in to discuss business with him. This Mr. Sun was... He didn't see anyone else, he lit up a cigarette and started smoking while talking. Although I have not interviewed many companies, I have interviewed some well-known companies and banks such as Johnson & Johnson, CITIC Construction Investment, ICBC, and Zhejiang Commercial Bank. This is the first time I have met such a secretive examiner as Mr. Xiang Sun. After asking, Mr. Sun said that I think you are a graduate student, and we can just do business as an undergraduate here (if it weren't for the people in your human resources department, I don't think I would come to your place), so I can only Patiently talk about your strengths. However, I obviously felt that the two of us were not on speaking terms. Finally, he asked me, if Ping An doesn't want you, where can you go. I told him naturally that I had passed the written examinations of several banks and was in the interview stage. After finishing speaking, Mr. Sun politely told me that I could go back.

The above is my interview experience at two financial institutions. Needless to say, I think the students will have their own judgment standards. In addition, I was born in an insurance family, so I have no prejudice against the insurance industry. But as the old saying goes, birds soar far away with phoenixes, and people with virtuous people are of high character. I have gone to school for so many years, not just to insult others. ;
