The 14th Five-year Plan for Rural Revitalization

On 20021March 12, the 14th Five-Year Plan for People's Republic of China (PRC)'s National Economic and Social Development and the Outline of Long-term Goals for 2035 were announced.

The seventh part of the plan insists on giving priority to the development of agriculture and rural areas, comprehensively promotes rural revitalization, takes the road of rural revitalization in Socialism with Chinese characteristics, comprehensively implements the strategy of rural revitalization, strengthens industry to feed agriculture and cities to lead rural areas, promotes the formation of a new type of relationship between workers and peasants with mutual promotion, complementary advantages, coordination and prosperity, and accelerates the modernization of agriculture and rural areas.

Article 2 of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Rural Revitalization Promotion Law is applicable to the full implementation of the rural revitalization strategy, promoting the development of rural industries, talents, culture, ecology and organizations, and realizing the integration of urban and rural development.

The term "village" as mentioned in this Law refers to a regional complex with natural, social and economic characteristics and multiple functions such as production, life, ecology and culture, including towns and villages.

Article 3 of the People's Republic of China (PRC) Rural Revitalization Promotion Law promotes rural revitalization in accordance with the general requirements of industrial prosperity, ecological livability, rural civilization, effective governance and affluent life, and promotes rural economic construction, political construction, cultural construction, social construction, ecological civilization construction and party building as a whole, giving full play to the unique functions of rural areas in ensuring the supply of agricultural products and food security, protecting the ecological environment, and inheriting and developing the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation.
