Although the mayor's mailbox has previously solved many difficulties and problems in production and life for the people, city leaders discovered through observing the public sentiment that some people, especially farmers with low education, were unable to write to the mayor's mailbox when they encountered difficulties. This has become a great regret for some people. In view of this, Meishan decided to open a mayor hotline.

In the six months since the hotline was opened, it has received more than 3,400 calls from the public. In early June this year, the mayor's hotline received a call from Bazhong. The caller reported that his son had been detained in Dongpo District. When they came to the Dongpo District Public Security Bureau, his son had been released, but his whereabouts were unknown. , hoping to help find his son. After receiving the call, the hotline personnel on duty immediately contacted the Meishan City Public Security Bureau. It only took the Municipal Public Security Bureau four days to find his son Zhang Peng. It turned out that Zhang Peng had been working in a real estate company in Meishan City since his release. Due to the inconvenience of communication in his hometown of Yushan Town, he had no contact with him. A hotline put Zhang Peng's family at ease in Bazhong.

Among all the calls, more than 2,800 are within the scope of government acceptance, 2,630 have been handled, the response rate is 94%, and nearly 100 are being processed. The wall of the mayor's hotline office is covered with red banners presented by the masses with heartfelt words such as "The mayor's hotline relieves people's worries" and "The mayor's hotline is a link and bridge between the party and the government to contact the masses."

Meishan Mayor Yu Bin said in an interview with reporters that the mayor’s hotline is a bridge for the government to serve the people and an important channel for the government to understand social conditions and public opinion.
