The Chinese language requirement of the College Entrance Examination tests candidates’ six abilities: memorization, understanding, analysis and synthesis, appreciation and evaluation, expression and application, and inquiry. These six abilities are expressed in six levels, for A, B, C, D, Each of the six ability levels E and F can have tests of different difficulty.

The examination content is based on the cultural quality requirements of ordinary colleges and universities for freshmen, and is based on the "General High School Curriculum Plan (Experimental)" and "General High School Chinese Curriculum Standards (Experimental)" promulgated by the Ministry of Education in 2003. The "2014 National Unified Examination Syllabus for General College Admissions (Course Standard Experiment)" promulgated by the Ministry of Education Examination Center determines the content of the Chinese language test based on the actual situation of our province.

According to the "Chinese Curriculum Standards for Ordinary High Schools (Experimental)", the five modules of "Chinese 1" to "Chinese 5" with two goals of reading and appreciation, and expression and communication are included in the compulsory courses. Five series include poetry and prose, novels and dramas, news and biographies, application of language and writing, and study of cultural treatises, which form the compulsory and optional examination contents.

Composition can be written in expository, practical and literary categories. The requirements for the composition exam are divided into basic level and developmental level. Among them, the basic level requires that it conforms to the meaning of the question, meets the stylistic requirements, has sincere feelings, healthy thoughts, substantial content, clear center, smooth language, complete structure, correct punctuation, and no typos. The development level requires profoundness - going deep into the essence through phenomena, revealing the inner connections of things, and the viewpoints are inspiring; rich - rich materials, substantial arguments, full images, and profound artistic conception; literary talent - appropriate wording, flexible sentence structure, Good at using rhetorical techniques, expressive sentences; innovative - novel insights, fresh materials, new ideas, original reasoning and imagination, and personal color.

Examination format: closed book, written answer format. The exam time limit is 150 minutes.

Examination paper structure: The examination paper is divided into Paper I and Paper II, with a full score of 150 points. Volume I consists of single-choice questions, and Volume II consists of classical Chinese translation questions, fill-in-the-blank questions, short-answer questions, essay questions, and writing questions. Among them: 27 points for language use, 30 points for ancient poetry reading, 6 points for famous sentences and famous articles, 27 points for modern reading, and 60 points for composition. Essay questions: The number of words should not be less than 800; except for poetry, all other genres are within the scope of the examination; all essay question types are within the scope of the examination.
