I am a scholar, and I have always realized the importance and significance of reading. I also started buying a lot of books very early. I plan to read two books a week and finish at least 52 books a year, but in fact I never finish reading them. Many books have been hanging on the bookshelf and have not been opened. Some books have been opened for several pages. Go on to the next page. I often can't finish reading a book, and the reading speed is slow and the cycle is long until I read this book this week.

Henry Ford once said, "Whether you think you can do it or not, your thoughts determine your life." Most of us are used to setting limits for ourselves and imagining all kinds of difficulties before deciding to do something. Ordinary people 1 day read a book and read 365 books a year. The first reaction was impossible, and then it was gone. Thought decides action, so we should upgrade our thinking, dare to challenge the impossible and ask ourselves how to do it.

For beginners, before they get into the reading habit at first, they should choose the type they are interested in, which can be entertaining or self-improving, as long as they like books that are easy to read. First, they should make a plan of 100 days, with the goal of reading 33 books, with an average of 2 books per week. After completion, they should choose books related to their major and read 100 books every year.

For someone like me who doesn't have a whole period of personal time to take care of the baby during the day and at night, I can only make full use of the fragmented time of getting up early and sleeping every day. For example, people can find time to read e-books on their way to and from work and while walking their baby. It is not necessary to leave 65,438+0 hours in a row, but it can be 6 accumulations of 65,438+00 minutes. To borrow a word from Mr. Lu Xun, time is like water in a sponge, and there is always a squeeze.

People who like watching TV read books before watching TV, while people who like sports read books before exercising. Even if you are busy and have no time, as long as you give priority to reading, you can get into the habit of reading more easily. Remember the famous saying that "the characteristic of important things is difficulty". Because it is difficult, people tend to avoid it, so we must give priority to what is important and what must be done.

Kidnapping yourself is actually partnering with a group of like-minded people. It is easy for a person to give up learning, and it is easier and more powerful to advance with peers. Many reading tutors mentioned in their books that "you can't read, but you still want to succeed". When you start reading, you can join a reading club or reading community, not only to meet some great readers and learn reading methods, but also to stimulate yourself and grow up.

Any new habit will encounter a bottleneck period, also known as burnout period (see my last article for details), and reading is no exception. When you are in a period of burnout, you can find someone who can help you read, talk to him about your confusion, listen to the mental journey of the person who just started reading, and help the person who just started reading. You can also read biographies of successful people, give yourself some inspiration and thinking, post meaningful reading slogans at home, look at photos of role models every day and give them to yourself.

To really own a book, you must make it a part of yourself, and the best way to achieve this goal is to write it down, that is, take notes. My requirement for myself is that after reading a book, I should output a reading note. Practice is the highest output mode. Reading without practice is meaningless. Therefore, after reading a book, you should not only write down your feelings and gains, but more importantly, practice the methods in the book. Practice is the only criterion for testing truth.
