Jianhu County is located in the central and western part of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, with 33°16′～33°41′ north latitude and 119°33′～120°05′ east longitude. It borders Sheyang County to the east, Yandu District to the south, Baoying and Chuzhou counties (districts) to the west, and Funing County across the water to the north.
