Code of conduct for prison inmates

Chapter 1 Basic Norms Article 1: Support the Constitution, abide by laws, regulations and supervisory disciplines. Article 2: Obey management, receive education, participate in labor, plead guilty and repent. Article 3: Love the motherland, love the people, love the collective, love learning, and love labor. Article 4: Be courteous and honest, help each other and be friendly, be diligent and thrifty and strive for self-reliance. Article 5: Exercise rights in accordance with the law and use proper methods and procedures to safeguard personal legitimate rights and interests. Article 6: Strictly abide by the following disciplines while serving sentence:

(1) Do not exceed the cordon and prescribed area, or act without supervision;

(2) Do not hide cash, cutting tools, etc. Contraband items;

(3) Do not contact outsiders privately, request, borrow, exchange, or pass money or objects;

(4) Do not send letters, cash or other items privately during meetings ;

(5) Do not use insulation, climbing, or digging items without authorization;

(6) Do not steal or gamble;

(7) Do not fight, fight, Self-harm;

(8) Do not form gangs or bully others;

(9) Do not spread criminal means or encourage others to commit crimes;

(10) Do not Practicing and spreading harmful qigong and cults. Chapter 2: Living Standards Article 7: Get up on time, wash and go to the toilet in an orderly manner, and place clothes, quilts and other personal belongings neatly. Article 8: Wear prison uniforms and uniform identification as required. Article 9: Clean indoor and outdoor areas on time and keep the environment tidy. Article 10: Maintain personal hygiene, bathe, get a haircut, shave, and cut nails on time, and change clothes and bedding regularly. Article 11: Eat at the specified time and place, cherish food, and do not throw away leftover food. Article 12: When marching as a group, follow the police officer’s instructions and maintain an orderly formation. Article 13: Do not drink alcohol or smoke in violation of regulations. Article 14: Report to the police when you are sick, observe discipline when seeing a doctor, and cooperate with treatment. Do not keep medicines privately. Article 15: When you need to enter the police officer’s office, report outside the door and enter with permission. Article 16: When you need to report the situation to a police officer at a field work site, you must report it three meters away. Article 17: If you encounter any problem, take the initiative to report it to the police officer. When speaking with a police officer, speak truthfully and answer questions. Article 18: Sleep in designated bunks, keep quiet while sleeping, and do not affect the rest of others. Chapter 3 Study Standards Article 19: Receive ideological education on legal system, morals, situation, policies, etc., recognize the dangers of crime, and correct bad habits. Article 20: Receive mental health education, cooperate with psychological tests, and develop a healthy mentality. Article 21: Respect teachers, abide by study disciplines, and take good care of teaching facilities and equipment. Article 22: Receive cultural education, listen carefully in class, complete homework on time, and strive for good grades. Article 23: Receive technical education, master practical skills, strive to become labor experts, and enhance employability. Article 24: Read healthy and beneficial books and periodicals, and listen to and watch radio and television in accordance with regulations. Article 25: Participate in cultural and recreational activities to enhance physical fitness and cultivate sentiments. Chapter 4 Labor Standards Article 26 Actively participate in labor. Failure to participate in labor for any reason must be approved by the police officer. Article 27: Observe labor disciplines, stick to their posts, and obey production management and technical guidance. Article 28: Strictly abide by operating procedures and safety production regulations, and do not operate in violation of regulations. Article 29: Take good care of equipment and tools. Practice strict economy, reduce losses and eliminate waste. Article 30: Keep the labor site clean and tidy, comply with placement management regulations, and place tools, materials, and products neatly. Article 31 Do not bring labor tools, dangerous goods, or contraband into the prison building. Article 32 Complete labor tasks, ensure labor quality, and cherish the fruits of labor. Chapter 5: Civility and Politeness Article 33: Protect the public environment. No spitting, no littering, no damage to flowers, plants and trees. Article 34: Speech and behavior should be civilized. Don't use bad or foul language. Article 35: Address others politely. People's police officers are called "police officers" and other personnel are treated with corresponding polite titles. Article 36: Prisoners shall call each other by their first names and shall not use nicknames. Article 37 When guests and police officers enter the prison cell, they must stand up and pay tribute unless they are sick or sleeping according to regulations. Article 38: Be civil and courteous when meeting guests or police officers.
