Feel the Different Deyang Confucian Temple

Text/Stone Haohao

I was born in Guanghan, a native of Deyang, but my impression of Deyang is limited to the word "hometown".

As far as I can remember, I have only been to Deyang several times, and almost every time I travel, I stop over and come in a hurry. At this moment, I can only think of the messy and shabby bus stop and the crowded cars passing outside, just like other cities. When I go back to Deyang this time, I want to see some scenic spots that the city thinks are most worth visiting to make up for the regret of coming and going in a hurry.

Every city has its own characteristics, such as the leisure in Chengdu, the ancient style in Xi, and the imperial spirit in the imperial capital. Every local people's bones are saturated with the soul of their own city. This temperament is not formed by several years of slogans and cultural promotion of government departments, but after hundreds of years of precipitation, it slowly flows into people's hearts along with blood and nutrients, and then infects people around from the inside out.

I have very low requirements for traveling, seeing different scenery and eating delicious specialties. This simple need makes it easier for me to take every step, without thinking about life philosophy or spending a lot of time understanding and forgetting someone. So many times I travel alone and enjoy traveling alone.

Just arrived in Deyang, going to the Confucian Temple. Deyang, known as the ancient town of Dexiao, especially respects Confucian culture. Deyang Confucian Temple, as the most famous local scenic spot, is also a leisure place frequented by local people.

In fact, I have been to Confucian temples in many cities. Deyang Confucian Temple is the one I have ever seen. It is quite large in scale and has a sense of the times and culture. It is said that Deyang Confucian Temple is the national key cultural protection unit after Qufu in Shandong and Beijing Confucian Temple, but in Deyang people's eyes, this ancient building is not so inhuman.

The architectural style of Deyang Confucian Temple is quite distinctive. The existing Confucian temple was built on the basis of the original site between the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. In addition to the Confucian Temple Square in front of the temple and the quiet backyard behind the temple, the main buildings are Wan Ren Palace Wall, Lingxingmen, Panqiao (Chi Pan), Jiymen (Dacheng Gate), Ritual Pavilion, Dacheng Hall, Dongxi Hall, Daoguan Ancient and Modern, and Harmony.

However, I am not a scholar looking for the past and visiting the school. I am not interested in the cultural background and historical position represented by Confucius Temple. On the contrary, I am more interested in the weathering marks on the buildings and vegetation in the temple.

It was early winter, and the sky swept away the haze of the previous day and was bright. The ginkgo trees on both sides of the Confucian Temple Square are full of gold, and the white bridge on the bamboo wall is in harmony with the blue sky and yellow leaves. People in the Confucian Temple Square are obviously divided into two categories-local people blow bubbles, smoke gyroscopes and bask in the sun in the square, enjoying the warm sunshine on winter weekends; Foreigners linger in snack bars and souvenir stalls near the square to fill their stomachs and hearts. The hot and sour smell of fried Li Hu floated into the sky with colorful and colorful soap bubbles, which caused children dressed as fat penguins to burst into laughter.

Deyang Confucian Temple has no access control, so everyone can go in and out at will. Compared with the noise in the square, the atmosphere in the Confucian Temple is quieter. Even though many tourists took photos with the ancient ginkgo in front of the halberd, everyone was polite and whispered in line, which was in line with the Confucian spirit.

The pattern of Confucian temples is similar, but the Sili Pavilion in Deyang Confucian Temple is unique. The four pavilions are different in pairs, with hexagonal cornices and red lacquer glass, which looks quaint under the shadow of osmanthus and ginkgo.

The backyard of the Confucian Temple is connected with the pedestrian street outside the courtyard wall. A wooden door seems to cut off time and space. One second I was listening to Sichuan opera fans singing in colorful leaves, and the next I entered the neon world. Coffee shop, dessert shop, old teahouse and museum are all located in the same small street. Fashionable English slogans and classical red lanterns are row upon row, and the mixed taste is like this city.

The most beautiful time belongs to night. When the lights were on, the small pedestrian street flourished immediately. There are not only local cuisines in Deyang, but also special cuisines from all over Sichuan and even overseas. The tables and chairs under the promenade are always full of people. People can often be seen holding roasted scallops in their left hand, lotus seed soup in their right hand, and food bags with skewers on their fingers, squeezing among a bunch of tourists to find empty seats. A little mess doesn't hinder the fun of feasting.

The eastern section of the pedestrian street is slightly less bourgeois than the northern section, mostly gardening, dessert and souvenir shops, but it is full of youthful atmosphere and exquisite decoration style, which has won the favor of a large number of young people. Isn't it the happiest time in life that Santa Claus on the street, a small wooden tin soldier doll with a height of one person, a pirate ship and an oiled paper umbrella hanging overhead, and the harmony of chaos and mixing?

Many people say that the meaning of traveling is to experience different customs in a strange place, but no one has ever thought that it is not a pleasant trip to see a familiar place with a brand-new perspective.
