According to years of production practice, silage corn 1hm2, leguminous forage 1hm2 and various crop straws can be planted in agricultural areas, and sheep 150, silage corn 1hm2, leguminous forage 1hm2 and natural grazing forage 6.67hm2 can be raised in semi-agricultural and semi-pastoral areas.

When planting trees by water, that is, when planting trees artificially, the planting types and densities are determined according to site conditions and soil water content.

The site conditions are good and the water content is high, so some trees or drought-tolerant trees can be planted; Otherwise, xerophytes and super xerophytes should be planted, and the density should be determined according to the root distribution, water conditions and transpiration water consumption of plant species, so as to achieve the right place and tree, and balance the water demand of various plant species.

Plant deep-rooted tree species in places with high water content in deep soil, and plant shallow-rooted tree species in places with high water content in shallow soil, and rationally allocate density. Only in this way can plants survive for a long time, thus achieving the purpose of soil and water conservation and preventing desertification.

According to the natural geographical conditions and economic development, Ordos region can be divided into four types.
