Is Hexian County and Nanjing a dialect?

Both Hexian County and Nanjing speak Anhui Jianghuai dialect, but there are some differences.

Nanjing used to speak Wu dialect, and the Ming Dynasty established its capital in Nanjing to promote Mandarin, which turned the original soft language of Wu Nong in Nanjing into Jianghuai Mandarin. Because the traffic in Nanjing Gaochun has been relatively closed, the original Wu dialect has been retained.

Jianghuai Mandarin in Anhui Province is mainly distributed in Hefei, Chuzhou, Chaohu, Lu 'an and Anqing between Jianghuai, as well as Maanshan, Wuhu, Tongling, Xuancheng and Chizhou in the south of the Yangtze River and north of Huangshan Mountain. Among them, except Huai dialect in Anqing belongs to Huangxiao dialect, the rest belong to Hong Chao dialect. The areas where Jianghuai Mandarin is spoken also belong to central Anhui or Jianghuai area in the cultural sense, and the residents belong to Jianghuai ethnic group.
