On April 26, 2007, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games Organizing Committee announced the planned route of the 29th Olympic Games Torch Relay at the Beijing Millennium Monument. The torch will be relayed to 19 overseas cities and 116 domestic cities and regions.
During the overseas torch relay, there are 80 torchbearers every day, each running 250 meters, and the relay mileage is about 20 kilometers a day. Runs approximately 6 hours, including starting ceremony and post-pass celebrations. There are 120 torchbearers each from Hong Kong and Macao, and the relay time will be lengthened accordingly.
