Yiyang Medical College is located on the bank of Zishan Lake, a scenic new city in Yiyang City, adjacent to Changsha in the east and Dongting in the north. The new campus covers an area of 50 1.6 mu, and the total construction area of the first phase project is more than 75,000 square meters.

There are 140 key experimental training centers such as modern medical morphology laboratory, medical function laboratory, nursing (midwifery) training center, medical clinical (schistosomiasis control) training center, dental training center, school network center and so on. Yiyang Medical College, formerly known as Yiyang Health School, was founded in 1950. In March 2007, it was upgraded to a general medical college with the approval of the Ministry of Education and the provincial people's government. At present, there are 520 faculty members and 8000 students.

The school is located on the bank of Zishan Lake in Yiyang City, bordering Changsha in the east and Dongting in the north. The new campus covers an area of 50 1.6 mu with a building area of 200,000 square meters.
