What does Tianan City Gate look like?

The Tianan City Gate Tower is 66 meters long and 37 meters wide. There are five gates under the city platform. The middle gate is the largest and is located on the central axis of the Imperial City of Beijing. In the past, only the emperor could enter and exit through this gate. A portrait of Mao Zedong hangs above the central doorway, and on both sides are large slogans "Long live the People's Republic of China" and "Long live the great unity of the people of the world".

Cultural relics:

1. Golden nanmu box: Except for the base of the Tiananmen Gate Tower, which is a brick-concrete structure, the entire tower is a wooden structure. In the 1960s, when the reconstruction team was counting the ridge tiles at the highest ridge tile in Tiananmen Square, they accidentally discovered a golden nanmu box hidden in the middle yellow glazed ridge tile. The glazed tile was 60 cm thick and 80 cm wide. After the workers smashed it, A 30cm square wooden box was revealed, with a pair of exquisite carvings of two dragons playing with beads clearly visible on it. The wooden box came loose after workers poked it open with a crowbar. There is a thumb-sized ruby ??and cinnabar hidden in the wooden box. In addition, there were colorful grains: soybeans, sorghum, black beans, millet, corn and other items. Some of the items could not be distinguished clearly. Everything in the golden nanmu box was later handed over to the state treasury.

2. Artillery shells: When demolishing the west gable wall of the Tiananmen Gate Tower, a worker took out a complete artillery shell with a diameter of 9.5 cm and a height of about 45 cm. The headquarters immediately instructed the public security department to remove all the surrounding soil. Go research. Later, during the dismantling process, 6 more artillery shells with the same specifications were recovered. These 7 artillery shells have always remained a mystery.
