How are airports classified?

The airport grade is the flight zone grade, and the technical term of the airport grade is "flight zone grade". Airport flight area is the general name of buildings that meet the requirements of aircraft characteristics and ensure the safe operation of aircraft ground activities and parking, including runways, lifting belts, taxiways, aprons, ground signs, navigation AIDS and drainage systems.

According to the distance from the largest aircraft span used in the airport flight area to the outside of the outer wheel of the main landing gear, it is divided into five grades: A, B, C, D and E from small to large.

4F class airport is the highest in the airport class. 4F-class airport representatives can take off and land all kinds of large aircraft.

4E-class airport refers to an airport with runway length greater than or equal to 1800 meters and wingspan greater than or equal to 52 meters and less than 65 meters, which can take off and land four long-range wide-body passenger planes such as Boeing 747 and Airbus A340.

A 4D first-class airport means that under standard conditions, the available runway length is ≥ 1800 meters, the maximum wingspan of available aircraft is 36-< 52 meters, and the distance between the outer wheel of the main landing gear and the outer wheel is 9-< 14 meters.

4C represents the flight zone level of civil aviation airport, and 4C-class airport is generally used as a regional airport.
