In October 1956, the hospital moved to No. 910 Hengshan Road, Xujiahui, covering an area of ??11,700 square meters and having 2 buildings. In addition to admitting hospitalized women, it also opened an independent gynecology department and added gynecology clinics, gynecology wards and tumor beds. In 1962, the Department of Family Planning was established, and a family planning clinic and outpatient operating room were opened. In 1963, the Health Department was established, focusing on family planning, contacting factories and areas, establishing women's health cards, and conducting women's health surveys. In the same year, a neonatology department was established and a pediatric clinic was added to provide unified management of mothers and infants. In 1966, the number of hospital beds increased to 200, and the Shanghai Municipal Government allocated more than 1.2 million yuan to build a 5,459-square-meter 6-story ward building and radiotherapy facilities (an obstetrics and gynecology complex was built on the original site in 2004). In 1984, the Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau allocated 1 million yuan to build a new 3,600-square-meter outpatient laboratory building in the health center, with the number of beds increased to 350. On September 18, 1992, the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the hospital, the health center prepared to build the "Obstetrics and Pediatrics Building". The building is 9 floors high, with a construction area of ??7,242 square meters, and a total investment of 24 million yuan. The obstetrics and pediatrics building was completed in October 1994. In order to thank Hong Kong Kerry Group Chairman Robert Kuok for donating 10 million yuan for the construction of the building, the obstetrics and pediatrics building was named "Geru Building" after Kuok's mother, Ms. Cheng Geru. The foundation stone of the obstetrics and gynecology complex was laid on December 15, 2001, and it was officially opened on December 25, 2004 after three years. The building has 18 floors: 2 underground floors and 16 above ground floors, covering an area of ??2,352 square meters and a construction area of ??30,966 square meters. The total investment in the building project exceeds 200 million yuan, part of which was donated free of charge by the famous Malaysian industrialist Mr. Robert Kuok. The overall design of the building is provided by Mr. Kazuo Tanaka, a famous Japanese hospital architect, as the design consultant. Currently, the hospital covers an area of ??12,300 square meters and has a construction area of ??47,000 square meters.

In 1989, the Health Care Institute was approved by the Shanghai Higher Education Bureau and the Health Bureau to become the teaching hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine (formerly Shanghai Second Medical University), a training base for undergraduates, masters, and doctoral students. and a postdoctoral mobile station. In 2008, the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Health Care Center became a key construction discipline of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. In 2009, it became the "Fetal Development Abnormality Diagnosis and Treatment Center" and "Cervical Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, as well as the "Gynecological Oncology Diagnosis and Treatment Center", "Breast Disease Diagnosis and Treatment Center", and "Children's Respiratory and Circulatory Critical Illness Diagnosis and Treatment Center" of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. At the same time, with the approval of the State Food and Drug Administration, it has the qualifications to conduct drug clinical trials.
