The Chinese government attaches great importance to cooperation with the United Nations Cooperation with volunteer organizations. As early as 1981, representatives of the Chinese government and representatives of the United Nations Volunteers signed a contract in Beijing and decided to send United Nations Volunteers to each other. The China International Economic and Technical Exchange Center of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation is the official cooperation agency of the United Nations Development Program in developing its business in China, and is also the executive agency of the UNV project. The exchange center is also a Chinese partner of the United Nations Volunteers. So far, the organization has dispatched more than 210 volunteers from different countries to our country. Some of them come from industrially developed countries such as the United States, Britain, France, Italy, Japan and Canada, as well as other developing countries such as the Philippines, Myanmar and Mauritius. These volunteers have made significant contributions to China's economic and social development in a wide range of technical fields. Especially in the early days of reform and opening up, in terms of teaching reform, they played an important role in improving the level of foreign language teaching in our country and cultivating a large number of foreign language science and technology and management talents to meet the needs of opening up to the outside world.
