Due to the limited funds for rural road construction, the cost should be considered first. The cost of asphalt road is more expensive than cement road. Therefore, even if asphalt roads are built in rural areas, it is often due to the insufficient thickness of asphalt layer, which is also the cause of pavement vulnerability. Cement roads are much cheaper than asphalt roads, so it is not surprising that cement roads are the main roads in rural areas.

Based on the comparison between cement road and asphalt road, according to the existing conditions in rural areas, cement road has low cost, relatively simple construction, less later maintenance, and can provide farmers with a place to dry grain. Therefore, there is no better difference between these two pavements, and we can only adapt to local conditions. Relatively speaking, cement roads are more suitable for rural roads, which is the main reason why there are more cement roads than asphalt roads in rural areas at present.
