Cycling around Erhai Lake

Erhai Lake is not a sea, but a lake at the foot of Cangshan Mountain. It is called the "Pearl on the Plateau".

As we were riding around the lake, we saw various buildings being built by the lake. There are also various slogans calling for the protection of Erhai Lake by the lake, such as "Erhai Lake is clear, Dali is prosperous", "Erhai Lake is our mother lake" and so on. You can always see some dead trees sprouting new shoots in shallow water. It is very pleasant to ride on the West Huanhai Road, with lakes and mountains on both sides, green mountains and green waters all in front of your eyes. I met professional cyclists and cycling enthusiasts like us on the road, enjoying the beautiful Erhai Lake while riding. We also stopped once to wash our feet in the lake before getting back on the road and continuing our ride. Huanhai West Road has nine twists and turns. Sometimes it seems that we have reached the end of the road, but when we get closer, there are twists and turns, and there are villages with dark flowers and bright flowers. The road conditions on Huanhai East Road are even more complicated. I did not expect that there would be so many ups and downs. The mountain roads were steep and some were very steep, which made our ride very tiring, so we had to push our bikes uphill. Fortunately, we have ridden through most of the mountain roads.

The night was getting darker. I suggested finding a hotel in Caise Town to stay and rest, but Xiao Dong insisted on riding to Haidong Town and staying there as planned. The night was completely dark, but luckily there were street lights. After climbing over several hills in the night, we arrived at Haidong Town at around 9pm and successfully found a hotel and restaurant. Cycling is tiring, but it is far faster and easier than taking a bus to walk around. But the ride is still worth it. Although it is tiring, the body and mind are exercised and the experience is more profound.

A night's rest allowed me to resurrect with full blood. But Xiaodong kept complaining that "his butt hurts" because he rode a bicycle all day yesterday. The road in Shuanglang Town is well maintained and the lake is very clear. When we encounter beautiful scenery, we will stop and be in a daze. When you are tired, stop and rest for a while, looking at the blood peak of Cangshan Mountain on the other side of Erhai Lake. The top of Cangshan Mountain in the distance is covered with snow, standing there like a white-haired old man. Sometimes I stare at the slightly rippling lake in a daze. The air quality dropped a lot on the second day and was far less fresh than the first day. "Wind, Flowers, Snow and Moon" is Dali's slogan. We have seen all four scenery: "Shangguan wind, Xiaguan flowers, Cangshan snow, Erhai moon".

When I rode into the evening, I asked Xiao Dong to stop and look up at the sky. The sky at that time was full of stars, and a waxing moon hung in the sky. I really wanted to sit down and appreciate this beauty. In the dark night, because there is still a long way to go, I have to keep moving forward. The moon in Erhai Lake is very charming.
