Longxi County, an old place name in Fujian Province. Longxi County is one of the four counties (Jian 'an, Fujian and Nan 'an) belonging to Jian 'an County in Sui Dynasty (roughly equivalent to today's Fujian Province), and it is the political, economic and cultural center of southwest Fujian.

Longxi County is located in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province. It was first set up in the sixth year of Datong, Liang Wudi in the Southern Dynasty (AD 540), with a long history and complicated administrative evolution, which has been over 1000 years. It is the political, economic and cultural center of southwest Fujian.

1On August 5th, 960, the State Council approved the merger of Longxi County and its neighboring Haicheng County (now Haicheng Town, Longhai City, Zhangzhou City and Haicang District, Xiamen City) into Longhai County. 1July, 985, the administrative office of Longxi District was abolished and Zhangzhou was upgraded to a prefecture-level city. In September of February1year, the original organizational system of Zhangzhou was changed to xiangcheng district. 1993 12 On May 2nd, Longhai County was officially approved by the State Council to withdraw from the county and set up a city.

Longxi County is located in the southeast of Fujian Province, in the east of Zhangzhou City, surrounded by mountains in the northwest and bordering the East China Sea and the South China Sea in the southeast.
