Hip hop, rap, rap, is it one kind?

Simply put, hip-hop, rap and rap are related, but they can't be said to be one kind.

"Hip-hop" consists of two independent English slang words: the word "hip" appeared in African-American vernacular English as early as 1898, meaning "aware" and "informed"; The word "hop" means "jumping".

Hip-hop is a marginal subculture between African-American and Latino youths. It originated in the South Bronx and Harlem of new york in the 1970s, and later developed into a new art form, which became popular all over the world. Hip-hop includes rap, DJ, floor break dancing and graffiti. In addition, some sub-cultures such as rhythm and ventriloquism, hip-hop fashion and hip-hop slang have been derived.

1978 Keith“Cowboy”Wiggins, a member of "Master sHarping" and "The furious five", took the lead in combining two slang words, and imitated the rhythm and melody of marching soldiers to some extent by singing "Hip, Ha, Hip, ha" quickly to amuse a friend who just joined the US army. The cowboy later brought hip-hop rhythm to his stage performance. The band often performs with disco artists who agree with this new music style and call them "hip-hop dancers". At first, this term was considered disrespectful, but it was soon regarded as a new music and culture.

Rap (English: rapping or Chinese Writing Rap or Translation Rap) is a rhythmic rap and one of the elements of hip-hop and other music forms. Its origin is related to the traditional singing art and blues music of American black immigrants.

All the art forms with oral "rap" as the expression form are always called "Quyi", so they are also called "rap art". The basic feature of Quyi is to use the third-person tone and oral "rap" to describe it.

In a broad sense, "rap" can be regarded as rap, while in a narrow sense, "rap" refers to the folk art in China.
