The underground powerhouse on the left and right banks of Baihetan Hydropower Station is located in the mountains on both sides of the river. It is the largest underground powerhouse in the world at present and the "home" of the single-machine capacity 1 10,000 kilowatts 16 hydro-generator set.

It is understood that the underground powerhouse project of Baihetan Hydropower Station is large in scale, the stability of surrounding rock is outstanding, and the comprehensive construction difficulty ranks among the top in the world. Faced with a series of challenges, such as high safety risk, many overlapping processes and heavy workload of civil engineering and electromechanical coordination, the builders of Baihetan focused on the goal of putting the first batch of units into production in July 20021year and putting all units into production in July 2022. At the moment when the whole country celebrated the 7th/Kloc-0 anniversary of the founding of New China, they handed over the report card of the whole line of the left bank underground powerhouse, which also laid a solid foundation for realizing the goal of putting the unit into production on time.

Baihetan Hydropower Station is the largest hydropower project under construction in the world, with a total installed capacity of160,000 kilowatts. Eight single-machine hydro-generator sets with completely independent intellectual property rights are arranged in the underground powerhouse on the left and right banks, ranking first in the world. After the whole underground powerhouse on the left bank is capped, it will be fully transferred to the unit installation stage, and the goal of putting into production on schedule will be fully sprinted.
