Construction process of the aircraft carrier Prince of Wales

20 1 1 In May, the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the second British aircraft carrier "Prince of Wales" was held in Port Clyde.

On 201February 16, the Royal Navy and BAE Systems held the groundbreaking ceremony for the second section of the bow of the Queen Elizabeth-class aircraft carrier "Prince of Wales". Admiral George, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Fleet, attended the ceremony and directed the cutting of the first steel plate in this section.

From July, 2065438 to July, 2004, when the first ship of this class, Queen Elizabeth, approached the naming ceremony, the parts of the second ship had been delivered to the general assembly shipyard one after another. After Ship No.1 was launched and pulled off the slipway, the assembly work of Ship No.2 began immediately. The hull of Queen Elizabeth class aircraft carrier was built by subsection splicing. First, each large-scale segment is built by the shipyard and then transported to the slipway for final assembly, which shortens the construction period.
