Visiting historical sites in Shanxi in 2020 will give you a different surprise (3)

On the third day of our trip to Shanxi, the excitement continues.

The first stop was the Houma Missionary Temple Tower. I came here early in the morning and was about to take pictures, only to find that the camera was left in the hotel. All of a sudden, I lost all interest, so I took a few photos with my mobile phone. In a patch of weeds, I saw an ancient pagoda in front of me, an authentic ancient pagoda, and an ancient pagoda full of wild interest.

The second stop is the Pei Family Monument Museum. The most famous one is Pei Du from the Tang Dynasty. This place is called the Prime Minister’s Village. The Pei family is definitely a famous family in Chinese history. Many capable civil and military ministers emerged. Very rare in large quantities. Nowadays, large-scale antique buildings are being built here. There is a Pei's Monument Hall here. Unfortunately, it is not open. I was in a hurry to get my camera and go to the next place, so I gave up.

The third stop, Nantou Guanyin Hall, was to go to Jiyi Temple. My companions hadn’t arrived yet, so I went to the nearby village and saw a historic site, Nantou Guanyin Hall. There was a big locust tree in front of it. , the surrounding area is desolate and dilapidated.

The third stop is Jiyi Temple. The name of Jiyi Temple is unusual and rarely seen in other places. It is the temple of Houji and Boyi, both of whom were assistants of Dayu. He helped Dayu control floods and govern the world. The work he did was all related to agriculture and people's production and life. Jiyi Temple has two halls, one is a stage and the other is the main hall. The murals in the main hall are very famous and are well-known in the circle. This is the second time I have come to Jiyi Temple. The old master who visited the temple is still in good health.

Murals are still the focus. For those who like murals, Jiyi Temple is worth a visit.

The locust king in Jiyi Temple is so big that it is as tall as a human.

The fourth stop: Jiwang Temple in Beichi. When passing by this village, someone in the village was doing some errands, so they walked to Jiwang Temple. This temple was once used as a school and has been preserved. What is now presented is a very neat courtyard.

The hall still retains the propaganda posters of the chairman at that time, which is a memory of a historical era.

The fifth stop: Houji Temple in Wulu Village. The temple is located in the village. There are newly written slogans next to it and some production tools from the past collected next to it.

Entering the temple, it has been repaired. It is a very neat temple with not many highlights.

The large banner of the Yuan Dynasty on the stage is still very obvious, a whole large piece of wood.

The sixth stop is the Qiu family’s stone archway and stele pavilion in Guojiazhuang. The archway and stele pavilion are on the roadside outside the village. They were erected by the local Qiu family in the Qing Dynasty and are the glory of several generations. The carvings are extremely fine, with many details. Many stone carvings are gathered together in large numbers. It is very rare in the northern region and is a highly recommended place.

The seventh stop, Guocun Taishan Temple, is located on a high platform. The surrounding walls are made of rammed loess, and only one main hall remains.

In front of the hall hangs a plaque with the words "Gao Ming Pei Tian".

There is an evil dragon on the stone pillar in front of the temple, holding a human head in its claws. It is very strange and I don’t know what the meaning is. My personal understanding is: "Believers, you must be obedient, otherwise, no matter where you are in the world, you will have nowhere to escape. Your destiny is in my hands, and everything is under my control."

The eighth stop is the Tomb of Xue Song. Xue Song was the grandson of Xue Rengui in the Tang Dynasty. It is located in the field outside the village. There is only one tall stone monument left, which reflects the style of the Tang Dynasty. Now a monument has been built. pavilion.

The characters on this Tang stele are all in official script, which is very beautiful.

The weather is getting dark at the ninth stop, Yuwang City. At the last stop, Yuwang City, there is nothing, only history and stories, and only a high platform and mound. Large-scale construction is going on in front, and a very large square has been built. The staff nearby said: "When it is repaired, people from all over the world will come to our place."

I don’t know who fed the ecstasy soup. Why do people come all the way here just to see a big mound of dirt? If it is used as a public welfare investment, this is very good and can improve the surrounding environment. If we make large-scale investment in order to promote tourism and open up scenic spots, it will be too difficult to finally get a share of tourism.

Shanxi is a gathering place of history and culture and the foundation of traditional Chinese culture.

Looking at Shanxi in 2020, the excitement will continue.
