The pasting method of couplets is related to the reading habits of the ancients. Ancient books are arranged vertically, from back to front and from right to left, so couplets are also arranged from right to left.

When reading couplets, contrary to the habits of modern people, they are read from right to left, so it is easy to write them down. Correspondingly, the horizontal comments of couplets should be written from right to left.

The characteristics of couplets:

Couplets require that the levels of the upper couplet and the lower couplet are relative, but "the 135 is indistinguishable, and the 246 is distinct". Generally, as long as the words on even digits are hierarchical and relative.

However, the last word of the couplet must be flat, the last word of the couplet must be flat, and the last word of the couplet must be flat, which is "flat."

When Mr. Jin Yong denied the Preface to Gu Long's Couplets, he said: "China's couplets have certain rules. The last word in the first couplet is usually a hyphen, so the second couplet ends in a flat voice, but the word' ice' belongs to steamed rhyme and is a flat voice."
